Updated Review (5 Stars): After my initial experience, I reached out again to FitcamX, and this time they made it right. The company sent me a new replacement unit directly, and I’m happy to say this one works perfectly. Shipping was a little slow, however I did get it. The installation was just as easy as before, and everything functions as expected. These cameras are important for liability and peace of mind, and while I haven’t had to rely on the footage yet (thankfully), it’s good to know it’s there. I’m satisfied with the product and the customer service follow-up that fixed my situation. Bottom Line: The first unit failed, but the company made things right. The new one works great, and I’m confident enough to recommend it again. Will update if anything changes. ----- Original Review: TLDR: Installed easily, worked once, then died after the first drive. Support promised a replacement but never shipped it. A dash cam isn’t something that should work most of the time, it needs to work every time, especially the one moment you actually need it. This isn’t reliable, and I won’t trust it in any of my family’s vehicles. Report: I purchased this camera to test in one car before outfitting several others in my family fleet. The concept is great .. an OEM-style fit, clean install. But the unit failed after a single drive. Not a day … one drive. After parking, it never powered back on, no matter what I tried: reinstalling, checking cables, even resetting the car’s battery. Nothing. I contacted FitcamX support. They promised to send a replacement and gave me a UPS tracking number, but two days later, UPS still hasn’t received the package. As far as I can tell, it was never actually shipped. Here’s the bigger issue: a dash cam is not a gadget that’s “nice when it works.” It’s a device that’s supposed to work every single time, without fail, especially when you need it most. Most of the time, you’ll never even need the footage. but on the day that you do, and it’s not there? That’s when this product truly fails you. I can’t trust this camera in my car, and I certainly can’t trust it in my wife’s or my child’s or for my business vehicles. Returning it and moving on to something I can rely on. FitcamX may look good, but it’s not built for real-world peace of mind. This was a great idea, but do better!

Easy to install, although the wiring connector and some other pieces from the stock part that have to be installed on the new one were a little difficult to get apart. It hangs down quite a bit, below the legal limit, and looks a little awkward, not quite like one would expect a factory one to be. But it certainly looks better than other options. A couple minor things: the SD card is hard to get in and out due to the cover design. (Downloading via wifi is ridiculously slow.) And you can't do time-lapse recording when driving, only when you are parked (and have it hard-wired), but that is common. That would be a simple software change but after exchanging a couple emails they clearly do not get it.

This thing fits and connects perfectly. The local Ford service guy gathered some of his coworkers around to check it out. Easy install, perfect fit. The camera is also very good. The video quality is excellent. The app could use some additional features. I like how the Garmin cameras allow you to save photos and videos. This one just keeps recording until space runs out, then the old videos go away to make room for new video. Of course you can manually save them if you connect the app and sort through, but the extra step allowed by Garmin is a good feature. Anyway, I knew that going in and I’d still buy this one due to the fit and finish of the installation. It looks factory. .

I have a 2109 Mustang Convertible and this dash cam was an easy install and looks like it was installed by Ford. Get piece of mind for those crazies out on the road, have video proof for any accidents and this is the best option for the Mustang, no cables hanging down, no suction cups, like sleek convertible action.

While the unit was super easy to install and looked very nice, I had a lemon and it just didn’t work. The customer service for the product, NOT the Seller is beyond bad. They basically make it impossible to speak with someone and everything must be done over chat. I went back to my old faithful and now have nothing to worry about. Again, to be clear, this is not the fault of the Seller!!

Looks AMAZING. OEM look, easy to install, and works as advertised. I purchased the optional FitCamX Circular Polarizing Lens, Anti-Glare Filter (CPL-3345) that helps considerably avoid the dash glare when sun is strong and directly in front of you. I have not experienced any playback or download delay: I use the included MicroSD card reader that connects to my Google Pixel phone (via USB C). NO DELAYS whatsoever, even though I am recording in the highest 4K video setting. My one complaint is that you cannot use the app to control the camera settings or access the real time feed while your phone is connected to your mobile network / Android Auto. You must disconnect your Bluetooth and data network first and then connect to camera's Wi-Fi. To be fair, once you set your settings there is little reason to go back to the app. You can always use an old phone with wi-fi as a dedicated unit if you really needed to.

Took awhile for the WiFi to pair with my iPhone but other than that the install took 5 minutes and the picture quality is great. Looks oem which was exactly what I was looking for! Will by again

My biggest concern with this product was A, it seemed like a cheap chinese item, and B, The utter lack of reviews. I've owned and have been using it for about a month and it works well enough. I'd say if you don't mind having a mounted camera you'd be better served with a typical universal dashcam but I especially like how easy the install was and it's OEM appearence. The camera and footage is decent but it can be annoying to get it from you phone to your computer. Also the app that goes with the camera seems poorly made. Overall I'm happy with the purchase but the price is steep when compared with other options. Still happy with the OEM look though.
