Good for old plaster walls
Works really well on my plaster walls. Was able to find the studs no problem.

Great little tool.
Works great. Found several unseen nails, staples. Saves money on saw blades. Battery seems to last a good while. Turn it on it's edge, does a good job of pinpointing the metal.

Good product
Good product, finds rebar in typical concrete stem walls!

Excellent locator for drywall screws/nails and copper pipes
This item works great. Not only locates individual drywall screws. I was able to locate a copper water line through drywall. Works great!

Impressed.. Happy with the Buy!
Very pleased with this tools performance. One would think that they would embed the same design in normal stud finders but this little thing works better than stud finders that have metal detection capabilities. I needed to verify how a 3/4â iron gas pipe was piped through an exterior wall. This tool successfully identified a 3/4â iron gas pipe buried approximately 1.75â in a wall behind 0.5â drywall. My other stud finder by the same company couldn't do that⊠very happy with this tool. Only downside is that i wish the sensor head had a softer, non-marring surface.

Completely useless. Or maybe worse.
I have quite a few stud finders that can also seek metal and AC wires and do deep scans, including several Zircon models. All work OK, none work well enough to really rely on them. I was particularly looking for something that can find nails and screws, rather than metal pipes and metal drywall corners. This one purports to find nails, but I have tried it out repeatedly on places where I know there are screws or nails that I can see. This unit misses three fourths of them, even when the heads of drywall screws are at the surface, but it squeals red alert when it passes over taped drywall joints where the mud is thicker. I would say this unit was batting about 5% on visible finishing nails or drywall screws. I am OK with a false alarm once in a while, but failing to find ferrous nails and screws makes it useless.

Not for concrete
Cannot locate rebar in concrete even if it is very close to the surface. No reaction to electric wire behind drywall.

For pipe locating it was way easier to use than a stud finder
I needed to drill a bunch of anchors in a cement wall and I knew there were water pipes somewhere behind it. A different fancy stud finder I used was not inspiring confidence in readings and repeatability so I bought this. This tool allows you to easily zero in on metal. Easy to use. Keep button pressed and move the tip around on the wall until it beeps. While still holding the detector against the wall where it beeped, release the button and press it again (and hold pressed). This calibrates the detector for that location to make it less sensitive. Now move around that same area again until it beeps again. Repeat the "calibration". By making it less and less sensitive, you need to get closer and closer to the metal for it to beep. After doing this several times, the area you move in to make it beep becomes real small which means you've pinpointed your metal. If it no longer beeps when moving around, you might have done the calibration one too many times and set it to be too insensitive to detect your metal. Just move somewhere about an inch or two farther away (but still touching the wall) from the last beep location and hold button and repeat the scan process. A little practice and it should become clearer.

I was so ready to start putting deck screws in my wall to put up my hangboard, I was salivating. I had put in my test nails to find the struts, I was sure it was completely fine, I had researched door structure in flats to see what kind of build plans they typically use, the stars alligned, I had it ALL figured out. I bought this to reaffirm what I oh so confidently already knew. I was about 70% correct on my strut placement! The stud finder also showed me that there was a lovely little pipe running up one side of my door frame. One week of waiting for this package probably saved me a whole lot of misery in bursting a pipe that maybe shouldn't be in a position that it ought not to be in

Me ha servido para localizar varillas en muro, por si agujeras un castillo y no vaya a interferir al hacer algĂșn agujero para cortinas u alguna otra cosa.

This is a relatively inexpensive scanner; when I first tried to use us it to locate rebar, I discovered why it is inexpensive: it is very imprecise....I always required many many passes of scanner to gain confidence that I had actually located the rebar....constantly required recalibration. Quite frustrating.

This is a good device for detecting nails in pallets when they have been pulled apart. It is also handy to check out demolition timbers.
