Just what I needed.
Worked great tapping into a 12-in concrete tile drainage system. Has been functional for a few years, and given the low pressure application, will probably outlive me.

it works!
I was adding a second bath to our cabin. My choice was to cut into my 4 inch stack but with tight quarters it would have caused a problem not to ,mention the mess of having to cut out a section and put in a PVC connection. I admit I was sweating using this part because it was not clear if it would work on a 4 inch pipe I was connecting to. Well it worked perfectly! And easy!

Looks good
But it doesn't seem like a good deal the way it is designed. So I parked it and am going the main sewer pipe will be replaced with PVC instead of taking the chance with this

I can say enough about how this Fernco saved the day tying into an existing sewer line
Our tie-in to an old sewer line of uncertain material and uncertain diameter went very well due to the availability of this great fernco! The pipe turned out to be a 6-in cast iron pipe, we were easily able to cut out a hole with a grinder. Helpful hint....put the Fernco on top, then spray-paint through the top to leave a clear paint mark of the hole you need to cut. I am so glad I did not have to go get a solid PVC wye from a plumbing supply store, since it may not have fit right. The magic of this thing is the flexibility to accommodate variations in pipe outer diameter, something a solid PVC wye cannot do. Be sure to check codes though; I was informed that the city would not approve this connection since they want any holes to be no larger than half the larger pipe diameter (so a 4 in going into a 6 in is not acceptable). I suspect this is based on more flexible material, not cast iron, so what they don't know won't hurt them!

Add a inlet wye to an existing sewer line.
It worked. It was very easy to install, except for part where I was digging for a couple of days with a shovel to find the pipe and then to get all around the pipe with room for all the bends I would be adding. I was up to my neck in a hole big enough to kneel down in, to install this thing.

main should probably be something larger than 4".
4" branch size is correct but main should probably be something larger than 4"; could work though.
