If You like Status Quo through the 70s this set is perfect for you

Status Quo, London’s hard rock boogie band, have had over 60 chart hits (22 Top 10) in the UK, more than any other rock band; they’ve released over 100 singles & 33 albums (thru 2019), & appeared on Top Of The Pops more than any other band. They’ve basically recycled the same simple boogie on each successive album & single, yet their popularity has never waned in Europe (especially the UK) - if anything, their very predictability ensured the group continuing cult status. This totally bare-bones 2015 Netherlands’ Spectrum/ Universal 5-disc release of my favorite Status Quo era, 1972-76. No booklet or any info (re-mastered??, but it sounds great); no bonus tracks that have appeared on past re-issues – just the original album tracks. Disc 1: 8 tracks, 39:56 minutes; D-2: 8/ 39:01; D-3: 8/ 37:10; D-4: 10/ 38:40; D-5: 9/ 37:33; each slip into a LP front/back original cover (no gatefolds here as some were originally released), which in turn slip into an outer cardboard box. Windows Media Player correctly identifies everything. My only complaint is some variation in playback volume (hence the 4 stars) – Hello! plays too low, Blue For You too loud, albums 1, 3 & 4 are uniform, but it’s not too bad as some of these 5-album collections are.

Was a bit doubtful when I ordered this, as sometimes these bundled packages contain other karaoke type bands ripping off the originals.But fortunately was not these case, as these are the original 5 albums - Piledriver, Quo, Hello, On The level and Blue for You - played by the original Status Quo. I have most of these on vinyl and its hard to find them on CD in the US. The CD sleeves are just sleeves with the album front and back artwork, and not mini-albums, but you buy this for the sheer rock'n'roll power of the music not the artwork.Shames they never found success in the US, but this is a must if you like the Quo.

Excellent item but poorly packaged.very thin packaging. Bent the paper box and sleeves. Now new item looks very used butCDs are great and play well.

Gotta love Status Quo! These albums are really what rock music is about. Slight variations of simple songs. One of my fav British groups that never really made it in the states. Good choice of albums, hard to go wrong though since they have their sounds and they are sticking to it. Why do groups always feel they have to alienate their fans by changing constantly? To compare them to others they are a little like Foghat and a little like Sweet.

As a teen I was a great fan of English band Status Quo. Piledriver is probably their best record. On the level was my record I bought myself. Blue for you, just for the great songs of Rick Parfitt, Rain and Mystery song

I love the songs and it’s a great package. It’s such a shame that the recording levels are all over the place. I would still buy it again though!

This is a brilliant way to showcase the talents over time of Status Quo, if you like the old original albums, then you need to get this cd pack, just brilliant and so cheap to buy. A definite must for all old rockers who love the Quo
