Q: Does this work with z-wave?

This does not work with Z-wave. I actually have a Z-wave network in my house, but I hooked this up to Wi-Fi, and it performs perfectly. It places an icon on my iPhone from which I can control all functions.

Q: I have a non wifi esp-me. can i just exchange the faceplates. are they compatible. or do i have to replace whole system?

No, the ESPMe3 front panel will not work on the older ESPMe. Also, the ESPMe3 is not WiFi without the optional Lnk2-WiFi Module.

Q: Is it possible to program so most stations run every other day (sprinklers) but one station runs every day (drip line)?

Yes, just use Program B for the drip zone to add the other days that are not on Program A
