Ok
Wasn’t crazy about it once I put it on my axe doesn’t fit very well not snug and read it would fit it!! Not over happy with it! Nicely made sizes don’t work well!

Good, but lose the salad
I bought this to replace the sheath on my Husqvarna all purpose axe. It fits looser than the original, but will work fine. The drawstring bag, leather and canvas dangly thing, and fake stamp that it came with are ridiculous though. Leave those things out and save me a few bucks, please. I'm just tossing them in the trash anyways.

Good for carpenters' half-hatchets
This is a great little mask for typical carpenters half hatchets. It's better than a full sheath that completely covers the head as it leaves the hammer poll of the half-hatchet exposed for use while still keeping the sharp bit safely covered. The mask is a single piece of leather folded over at the top and held together with 4 rivets across the bit end. The closure strap is part of the single-piece leather construction; it's not added on after the fact. It fits securely without much play; not oversized at all. The snap closure is fairly stiff and positive; no worries about it coming undone unintentionally. The leather is thick and well-finished, and overall the mask has a quality feel to it. Can't say I'm disappointed. For the price however, ($20) I think it should be welted and stitched together instead of simply riveted. Over time as the leather stretches over the bit it's possible that the sharp edge of the bit could come into contact with the rivets, dulling the edge and wearing into the rivets until they (possibly) fail. At that point the only remedy is to drill out the rivets and replace them. If the mask was welted and stitched, the sharp edge of the bit would be resting against the leather welt: no worries about dulling the edge or cutting the stitching. For riveted construction it should probably cost half what it does, in my opinion. That said, it's a good mask for half-hatchets that does what it is intended to do: keep the sharp bit safely covered while still allowing the hammer poll to be used.

Great Sheath but my hatchet was a little small.
The sheath was really well made, a little bit dry when I received it but that was expected. A little conditioning oil rejuvenates the leather. Anyone that wants to get this sheath, just remember the first you do is to put some conditioning oil or leather wax etc. That will prevent damage and last the product a lifetime. aAnd just like any leather products, remember to apply leather conditioning oil every year, at least. My hatchet was a little too small for this sheath, but I did some modifications to it and now it works like a charm.
