Fantastic siphon for gas
Summary: This is a fantastic, versatile siphon that works very well and provides great value for the money. It appears to be solidly constructed and looks like it will hold up well to many years of use. Review: I recently moved to a property that requires many more gas-powered tools than I have ever owned in the past, and filling some of these tools using funnels and the nozzles attached to normal red gas cans can be a real pain and invariably leads to spilling no matter how carefully I try to fill them. For example, attempting to fill my utility ATV with any combination of gas can and funnels just makes a big mess every time. I looked at a couple battery powered gas pumps, but they were either astronomically expensive for my purposes or poorly rated (mostly durability issues). Amazon linked this siphon from somewhere I was looking and I was intrigued by the design. I used it yesterday to fill all of my problem containers and it was a fantastic help. No more spills. WAY easier to deal with. I didn't have trouble finding a way to elevate the can above the fill port. I thought I would mostly use the bulb to fill things, but after experimentation, the "jiggler" cap is amazingly effective and produced a better flow, faster, than the bulb. I'm still learning how to use the siphon's features, but this thing is great and solidly built.

Great product.
Works like a charm. I had to reorder it because it was missing a part the first time I got it. But, the return process worked great and I had another one on my doorstep a few days later. I was in a Hurricane Milton affected area and I needed this siphon to remove the fuel out of my two backup generators once my power came back up. Also helped my elderly neighbor to do the same. I may get a second as a backup. This kit has the bare essentials, plus the flow stop valve, plus the holder to keep it in place. The weighted end definitely helps to keep it at the bottom of the tank. Easy to operate. Plus the shutoff valve makes it easier to do the job safer and while minimizing fuel loss. Plus this setup eliminates the worry of swallowing fuel. The pump itself is easy to operate and works great. For those with health concerns, it is definitely a safer option. Probably not a bad idea to keep one at home and one in the car in case of disaster scenarios.

Good and Bad - didn't work for me, but should for you
This is a tough review, as the product failed for me but is a good product. The siphon works very well, very easily and is made of good quality materials. The hose is excellent quality and very flexible. That's the issue I ran into. The hose is so flexible that I couldn't work it down into the tank. It just folds over on itself like trying to push a limp piece of spaghetti, it's not happening. My first use was on my daughter's car so I could work on the gas pump. I realize this is the power equipment model, and a car was a bit behind. It didn't work, try and try but I the hose just has no structure to work down to the tank. It ended up wrapped like a coiled snake at best. Never got near the gas. I wish it had more of that stuff tube on the end of the hose, that would've worked better. Ok, no car. Next I tried on our UTV, an old amphibious model from the 80's. Ran into similar issues, this tank has one turn in the gas fill to the tank. The stiff tube went down easily, but as soon as we got to the flexible hose it became nearly impossible to get it any further. Work it a little, push it with a rod, another half inch. Nope. Next was my tow-behind field mower, can stick my finger into the gas below the cap. Whoo hoo, this one was easy and this siphon finally got to work. It did work well, not overly quick, and it wouldn't flow even downhill without stopping - but it worked when the bulb was pumped. Not fast, but it was easy enough and worked well. If the hose was stiffer or had more of the stiff tube on its end, it would be a more versatile product. As is, it works alright for gas tanks with gas just below the cap or perfectly straight shots to the tank. That super flexible, wet spaghetti like hose just kills it for many tasks though. For power equipment, it has worked ok for me. So, there's good and bad with this product. I looked at the higher end model siphon from the same company but it looks like it has lots of the flexible hose again, likely having the same issue.

Great tool, made in USA!!
Works great!! Pumped the gas out of a leaf vacuum motor tank in seconds, saving alot of time and mess. Saved lots of time and the smell of gasoline on my clothes and the engine.

Impressive! Simple, effective, high quality, easily removed excess transmission fluid from my truck!
I have a old Ford Ranger that accidentally had 2 quarts too much transmission fluid in it. I bought this pump based on the reviews and very glad I did. Easily removed the excess fluid, didn't spill a drop in the process, couldn't have been easier or more cost effective solution. You can use this pump in two ways, one for gravity feed, other other for non-gravity, which is the method I used. For non-gravity suction, you simply cut about 2 feet (or whatever length you need) off the end (the section with the brass fitting). You attach that smaller piece to the end of the one-way hand pump (arrow pointing towards fluid flow). Then attach the long hose section to other side to the pump. I removed the transmission dipstick and inserted the long end of the hose down. Keep working it down until it hits bottom, trust me it's longer than you think. You think you reached bottom, but you will go in further. I would occasionally hand pump it, if no liquid came out, it meant I haven't reached the bottom yet. Once I hit the bottom of the transmission fluid tube, it immediately started sucking up fluid with each hand pump. I used an empty 1 gallon apple juice container to empty out the fluid. The supplied tube holder worked great in holding the opposite end of the tube. I very quickly pumped out the two quarts I needed removed. Once done, I pulled the tube out and that was it. I really appreciated the quality of this pump. Seems pretty simple, a clear plastic tube and a one-way hand pump. But these guys use quality components, doesn't feel cheap in your hands, solid and strong suction. I know this isn't a throw away item, but something I can use for years. Very impressed with the results and quality!

I couldn't make it work!
I have to tell you it looked simple enough. But I never was able to get this thing to work! I turned it up down put the spout in the other end squeezed with both hands, it just would not work for me. I could never get the flow started. Now, granted, I have arthritis in my hands but if I can squeeze hard enough to compress the bulb there should have been something going on as far as sucking up the fluid it never came far enough of the tube for me to see. All I can do on this one is say that it could have been me it could have been the product. I finally found a pump that was battery operated and it worked well.

Simple, manual siphon that works quite well and moves liquid at a good rate.
I've several inexpensive siphons and this is the best I've found. The flow is easy to start using the bulb and the little brass valve that comes with it. If the source is higher than the destination, you just use the bulb to get the flow started (no sucking on hoses needed) and the liquid transfers unaided. You can speed it up by continuing to squeeze the bulb, but I'm satisfied to let physics do the work. I needed to drain the gas tank on a 900 lb. motorcycle with no petcock. It worked like a charm and the hoses are sturdy, easy to position and comes with clips and a guide spring to set up for a hands off transfer. No need for electrical pumps. The quality is very acceptable, well made. I have a dozen small engine tools and several fuel tanks. This makes my job a lot easier and the tool is fully self contained. Definitely worth the price.
