The excellent product I remember!
I haven't owned a pair of Carhartt jeans in over 15 years, closer to 20 as the last time I had them I was working as a carpenter. I now run a welding/fabricating/mechanic/maintenance operation on a fleet of car haulers, so I've been in the market for work wear that has very high demand set on it. After reading some of the lower reviews on here about Carhartt, I was a bit skeptical, but I took sizing into consideration based on reviews for this particular pair of pants. I couldn't be more impressed. These pants fit lovely, exactly the way they did when I was young. They're comfortably firm in the waist, and perfectly loose and flexible everywhere you need tbem to be. I have to roll under trucks, weld in odd inverted positions, crawl out of car windows, and climb trailers all night to secure loads- these pants are exactly what I need. The main deciding factor on choosing these pants is Carhartt's wise decision to move manufacturing back to the U.S.- the same reason I continue to buy Red Wings boots. I'll gladly pay more for superior materials and craftsmanship- and it butters another Americans bread as well, so it is a triple win at that point. The inseam is a bit long on these pants, but who cares? It won't be long before they start to fray out at the bottoms and the extra length will buy me a lot more use out of them. Sign me up for a bunch more, in the market for more Carhartt work wear too- jackets, hoodies, etc. Update: 3-27-17 Took me a year and 4 months to wear out two pairs of these I wore in rotation 7 days a week under very harsh conditions. Just got my first new pair I reordered, I forgot how great they fit when they're new! A fan of these pants as long as they keep making them. Tough as nails! Update 10/8/20: I’ve bought nothing but these pants for the last 5 years now- Amazon keeps them in stock, they arrive fast, the quality and price is great, hasn’t fluctuated price wise at any considerable amount. As long as they keep making em, there’s no reason I’d ever quit buying em! 👍🏿👍🏿❤️❤️

Double front pants. Decent quality.
Carhartt makes decent quality pants. These are double front pants. I have several pairs of them. However on most new double front Carhartt pants they stopped using the rivets which shows a lack of style and cheapness. Good for working.

Made in the USA
I've only had these for a short time, and they're really quite something. In the past I'd heard of Carhartt in passing conversation, but never actually had a product for myself, so when I needed durable work "khakies" (of sorts) I went for these---I don't regret it. Straight from Amazon I bought my normal size (30x32) and it came in the right waist although perhaps an inch or so longer than expected, but I imagine this would be great for boots as the weather cools down again. In terms of the groin, there's a regular amount of room, no crazy "ballroom" fitting like Duluth (but neither are these $80 pants for scraping your wallet). The material (12oz per yard^2 density) is fantastic, and is so dense that even light water spray or rain does bead on these (although in no way are these waterproof---just like any other cotton product---because it's made of 100% COTTON). Double layering takes place in the front of the leggings from the upper thigh down to the shins, producing a grand total of 24oz per yard^2 density in that area, along with the bottom of the second layer being unstitched from the first to allow for the use of knee pads. Stitching also appears suburb, with "made in the USA" being a plus in addition to the nowadays hard to find "Carhartt" button and tough zipper. The large range of pockets are also a great addition, and something that I've never had before in such a usable package. All the pockets are deep, and apart from your general jeans arrangement there is the addition of a hammer loop on the left leg alongside a "small" (6" deep) pocket, then a similar pocket on the other leg with a duplicate just above it. My time with these pants so far has been on a Tall Ship sailing, running and relaxing, and for all situations apart from anything close to a split these have done well. It seems like it might take some time to wear in these un-"washed" Carhartts, but in the end I think they're going to work out nicely. Even now these are becoming my new favorite pants! Update: After wearing these almost daily for weeks now, I can confidently say these are my new favorite pants in all weather but the rain. They wear in around the edges, though aren't prone to coal dust or dirt stains and are still the same brown color I purchased them as (Carhartt Brown) through numerous washes. Comfort has also been great as I'm able to wear them 24 hours a day (literally, I've slept in them), through a rigorous work day in hot summer weather and---oddly enough---with nothing else on whatsoever. Lastly, the seams are well in order, and nothing had torn or began fraying to pieces---I'll update again if anything changes.

Solid semi-protective pant; Carhartt sizing can vary a bit
I work in greenhouses, and I am constantly rubbing against thigh-high benches that are either wood or metal with the occasional nail head, piece of chicken wire, or expanded sheet metal sticking out. I have ripped through pants on their first day of use, and had cuts on many occasions. These pants have held up much better than my pairs of inexpensive big brand work pants. I'm on 3 months of wearing these most days, and I wash them at least once/week and any time I use them to apply chemicals to crops. They have faded some, and stained, but that's of no importance to me. Another aspect of my job is varying work environments, and the fact that I am always getting splashed with water. I think these are a good option for most temperatures. They breathe less than jeans and are more comfortable in cool weather, but their loose fit helps them to not be stifling in warm weather. Paired with a decent pair of thermal long underwear, these are perfect for working in almost anything short of sub-zero temperatures. When they get wet they don't tend to stick to you like most pants, and they dry quickly. Fit-wise, for me, the waist is a little loose, the inseam is just right, and the overall fit is somewhat loose, not "late 90's baggy jeans" loose. Quite comfortable once broken in. I expect a loose fit for a work pant to accommodate lots of moving, crouching, kneeling, etc. I've found the inseam on Carhartt pants to vary between product lines, but my normal pant size worked for these "B01" pants.
