Creative Products Key-Change Change Key for Global Link Locks - Yellow

Worked as advertised. For RV Global Lock Cylinders. I needed to reinstall a lock cylinder.

Affordable way to swap lock cylinders to effectively rekey your global locks. they wanted a ton more money to 'rent' a key from the manufacturer directly rather than just buying one yourself here and swapping the lock cylinders yourself.

Based on some reviews I was worried that this would turn out to be a knock off made in somebody's basement. It's not. It is exactly the Global yellow Key-Change tool that I hoped for. By design, it won't unlock a locked compartment latch, but it will remove the cylinder from an unlocked latch. Despite my fears otherwise the product description was spot on.

This key saved me from needing to call a Locksmith. Pulled the cylinder easily, enabling me to get the key code. I then ordered the correct key for my RV

I was unable to remove the cores from the Nova XL plastic slam latches but it removed the cores from the Versa Pro V latches. So I had to order replacement cores to match old keys for the new latches; whch were inexpensive. Overall I'm satisfied with this product.

When I asked my Locksmith about changing keys on my camping trailer, he told me there was a special key you could get to free the cylinder from the lockworks while in the unlocked position. Then you could simply install a different numbered cylinder. One company that has it's own website offers to rent you one of these keys for $50 or sell it to you for $99. After finding detailed info on the special key, this one was ordered for $9.99 which is a great savings. Keep in mind that this is not a master key, and you must unlock the lock before this key can be used to release the cylinder from the lock.
