Simple for Mite Control
Apivar is easy and simple to use. You just place one strip in-between two frames of brood when your honey super isn't on, which is usually during the Fall. After 42 days, you just pull out the strips and your bees should undergo another method of treatment for mite control. I used Apivar this Fall of 2019 and removed the apivar strips by the dates instructed. So far, it has been a month since Apivar was removed and it looks like my bees are still alive and kicking. I liked how easy installing and removing Apivar was and how simple it was in understanding the timeline. Obviously, there is more to mite control than just using Apivar but this product did everything as expected.

You need to use it all once opened
I used 4 strips to treat 2 deeps for about 7-8 weeks but unfortunately I didn't see a big mite drop in my hive like what I was expecting. I'm going to be treating with more natural ways next time as well since you need to remove any honey supers before use. You also need to leave the honey off for at least 14 days after removing the treatment. Overall it got rid of some mites but nothing like what I was expecting.
