Great Game! Why Can't You Change Dogs?
This was the first game I got my daughter for her Leapster 2. She plays it all the time and has learned how to count to 20 from it (she was 3 at the time). The only problem is, once you choose a dog from the list, that's the dog you're stuck with through the rest of the game, unless you make a new user on the Leapster. She always wants to use a different dog, and we can't figure out if there's a way to change it with the same user.

Pet Pals is fun AND educational
My son got this for Christmas with his first Leapster 2. He immediately took to it. He enjoys taking care of a dog and doing all the things he needs to prepare the dog for the pet show. I only wish that you could re-choose your puppy each time you play. I guess that is why they have three name slots available on the Leapster for Users. The game is pretty challenging on higher levels but I can see his progression and his confidence building as he plays it more and more. This is an awesome game for dexterity, writing letters, and learning the basic functions of the control pad and the stylus pens as well.

Favorite Game
PetPals is my 3 year old daughter's favorite game! By far she chooses PetPals more often than any of our other Leapster games. My 5 year old son enjoys it too although he prefers StarWars and Wall-E. And our 22 month old baby boy also loves to play PetPals. It has a neat part of the game where you train your puppy to run along the shape of letters, and it forces your child to correctly write the letters on the screen. I always feel happy to let my children play the Leapster games because after much reservation I am seeing that they know phonics and simple addition and subtraction.

Fun for my 6-yr-old!
We gave this game to our 6-yr-old for the holidays, and she LOVES it! She wants to play it constantly, enjoying the fact that she can name her "pets" and take care of them herself. I don't think the game is much for a reading/math-type educational value, but from an independence/responsibility perspective, it seems to have made a real impression on her. We're very happy she is having fun with this game.

Game Educational game
I bought this for my 4 year old newphew. He loves it, his mom says he hated to practice writing his letters, but is SO excited when he helps his dog write letters correctly. My 5 year old daughter received this as a gift this December and although she has been writing her letters for over a year, she also loves this game. The game has different levels to challenge kids. She loves to teach her dog new tricks and hunt for words at the park. This game is definitely worth the money.

Very nice
My 2 1/2 year old LOVES dogs. She is very excited to play this game, and with some help, she can play some of the very basic games. Most of the games are two advanced for her, but I figured that they would be. I think in about 6 months to a year, she will benefit enjoy this game more.

My son loves it
My son (he's 5)loves this game. I originally got it for my daughter but they share. He loves adopting a pet, playing with it, feeding it and getting rewards and being able to get virtual money for playing games and then using it to buy clothing and accessories for the pet. This kind of makes up for the fact that we do not have time for a real pet right now so when we do i know he will know what all needs to be done.Would recommend it!

Leapster Pet Pal game
I got this game for my 3 year old, I got a great deal on it so I had intended to put it up until he was older but he loves it. There are so many fun games he can play with out yet knowing the alphabet but also learn things as he plays.
