A nice little radio for under $30
The radio works well and after testing all its features I am quite pleased. FM and AM reception is good and I picked up some SW stations with the telescoping antenna as well. With an external antenna attached it would probably get very good SW reception. Bluetooth played music from my phone and was easy to pair. The SD micro card player is picky, I tried two Sandisk cards that didn't play, then tried a third one from my spare phone (songs in MP3 and WMA) and it played perfectly. All three SD cards worked in my phones so it must be the radio's finicky card reader. The flashlight is bright and the rechargeable battery has lasted for a few hours so far at medium volume. I didn't try it with 2 D cells. Sound quality is what you would expect from a radio this size, it sounds good with a hint of bass but obviously not hi-fi at this price. Overall, I'd say this radio is an excellent value with decent sound, good reception, and useful fun features. Update: 05/17/23 The shortwave reception is impressive at night wirh the telescoping antenna and I've found the recharcgeable battery lasts for many hours of listening. An excellent innexpensive radio!

XHDATA D-901 AM FM SW radio
I already have one of these and it's why I bought another. Didn't want to lose the chance before they go out of stock. Besides the radio functions, it receives Bluetooth, can play USB media sticks, has an aux port and headphone jack. It has a good quality rechargeable battery that can be removed to run it on its C type recharge cable. I plug it into a port on an electric surge strip. I don't leave the battery in when I run it on the recharge cable so it doesn't overcharge. The tuner has a peculiar FM selection for FM 1 and FM 2. Have to see it and try it. Shortwave is broken up into various bands. For FM, it's fairly local and can use the whip antenna, an antenna that plugs into the auxiliary jack, or an auxiliary that uses an alligator clip direct to the antenna. AM is longer distance and variable depending on propagation that changes with sunup or sundown and weather. It benefits from the use of an aux antenna. Shortwave is extremely long distance and the best signals require an auxiliary antenna. In the mountains I used to have outdoor wires that were hundreds of feet long strung out the window and received signals on various bands from the east coast and Canada as well as throughout the states. It's a great hobby. This XHDATA was tested in the city with a short wire strung out to the eaves and with an indoor PVC stick antenna hung on the slider. It was definitely more sensitive than my Retekess and SuperSonic tuners. It pulled a shortwave show on a frequency the others couldn't bring in. Tested on Bluetooth and USB function and it has a good sounding speaker for what it is. A good pair of wired headphones will give best sound for any radio that has a jack but small speaker. I use the USB function at night in bed with headphones to listen to audiobooks. I also recommend the much smaller XHDATA D-368 that has the same functions as the D-901 with the exception of the Aux port, but can still clip an extension antenna wire on. Overall the D-901 is a fairly easy radio to operate, good stuff.

Needs a analog tuner.
The tuning is a pain, being digital instead of analog, but controlled with an analog knob and indicator, so you can't tune it as fine and precise as you can an analog tuner or digital turner with digital display. Otherwise reception is great, sound is great, blue tooth speaker is great, it is rechargeable with an easily replaceable lithium battery and it is great value for money.

Great Value and a Quality product for AM Radio Lovers
Great Sound, Good Reception on AM. Cousin Brucie never sounded better! FM is good, too. Quality build plus recharging, an mp3 player and a flashlight.

A most excellent overall device
This one has it all! You can play music files on micro SD cards or Flash drives. You can use it as a Bluetooth speaker. And the radio picks up two types of FM band, the US and the extended one. It gets AM and that's the proper settings for the US, and it has several shortwave bands. It is very easy to carry, and you can even put your charging and audio cables in the place where D batteries might go. I prefer to use the rechargable battery that's included to keep the radio light. I have found the sensitivity of the FM band to be top-knotch. I can get some weaker and lower-power stations between strong stations. the Bluetooth speaker is also excellent although I did find it has slightly less bass than the radio for some reason. You even get a leathery-looking strap that swings behind the top of the radio instead of a wrist strap that hangs off the side and gets in the way. It does what it says it does and does them all well, though, I totally can't complain.

A nice little all around radio that has a pleasant sound...no batteries required.
I purchased several different radios along with this one, and this was the best of the bunch. It picks up the most channels and has the best sound. And the usb port plays MP3. Plus it is a flash light. I like this little radio and its rechargeable battery.

Thick and solid but not charging
This X-Data radio has a great sound. It's a bit thick but manageable. I was looking for a radio that I could tune and adjust volume with a knob instead of buttons. I like that it has a 18650 (button top) battery that is removable. The SD card for music is a plus. Tuning is very fiddly, so it is not good for AM trolling for distant stations at night. FM is outstanding, and the speaker sound is bright and clear. Shortwave is ok on reception , but hard to tune like the AM band. Volume is very sensitive, so use the knob very slowly. The unit I ordered had a charging problem, otherwise I would have not returned it. Overall, it's a good little radio, even with it's tuning shortcomings.

I’m a bit of a generation X radio nut. I’ve held the highest level HAM Radio License available in the USA for many years and own allot receivers and transceivers. I purchased this little unit recently as I was lacking a moderate sized analog MW / Shortwave receiver for my collection and occasional enjoyment and I wanted to see if I could find one with the most modest of price tags without sacrificing too much quality or performance. This radio really knocked it out of the park for me! Everything works great as described and the quality is quite pleasing especially for the ridiculously low price! The radio is rapidly becoming my favourite to use. Tuning sensitivity and selectivity is above average in all bands. The single 2” - 3” speaker delivers rich clear audio with an excellent base presence. The biggest benefit for me about this radio (and I wasn’t expecting it) was how quiet background noise is on the radio or when using Bluetooth/ USB / SD cards to listen to audio. Almost all units typically have a low level hissing noise in the background that is overcome as the volume is increased but is quite noticeable and can be quite annoying when listening at night with very low volume because you have a significant other who has an aversion to any kind of sound while they are sleeping 2 rooms away:). This radio has no background hiss at all! I can listen to it at barely above a whisper level and it’s crystal clear! Also this aspect of the sound quality really stands out even at higher volume too when audio drops off or in a break in the music or between beats it’s crisp clean and sharp. The only thing I found disappointing was partly my fault and that is that the radio is listed an an Analog DSP receiver (I overlooked the DSP part) it’s not truely analog. I think I glazed over that as they also used the term transistor radio in the description which also really reinforces classic analog radios. I mean they are not lying there are transistors in this radio it’s just not what us old timers would call a Transistor Radio. The dial and controls are analog but there is a digital tuner behind it, this means for purists like myself who enjoy maximum DXing (receiving very long distance stations) I can’t manually fine tune a very faint station and then amplify it with an external antenna. What happens when looking for such a station the digital tuner will automatically lock in a stronger signal on a nearby frequency instead. So I Bought the radio for one reason but am keeping it and using it for another. PS i’m so happy with all other aspects of this radio I’m not even marking it down for what I felt was a bit of an unclear description. I’ll own the misunderstanding and gladly own the radio! Hope this was useful. Great Radio!
