does a good job
I would advocate this product as an adjunct to normal brushing and flossing. I dont think it replaces either, but would help overall. It takes minute to get used to it and maneuver the instrument. You will make a mess of it the first few uses, then you get the hang. I like the adjustability, the east of use, and the overall function of the machine. It's not noisy. I do wish the cord was a foot longer as it is stretched to the max to reach my sink. I think the best thing about it is that it does a good job on the far back molars that are hard to get floss around. I like the pulsating feature with you can use as a guide tooth to tooth. I do find that I am not done using it when the reservoir runs out and I have to refill it. But that is just me. I also discovered that you do not want to use very cold water. Warm it a bit and it's much more comfortable. I like to add a capful of mouthwash to the reservoir water, remembering to fully rinse it out and run the machine until clear when I am done. My only concern is replacement heads. They are available on Amazon and the instructions say to replace them every 6 months. Other than that, I am pleased to add this to my routine of oral care.

Even better than Waterpik
I recently purchased the Panasonic water flosser and I have to say, I'm really impressed with this product. As someone who has used a Waterpik in the past, I was pleasantly surprised by how much quieter this flosser is. It's a great improvement, and it makes flossing a much more peaceful and enjoyable experience. One of my favorite features of this water flosser is the pause switch on the device. This is something that my previous Waterpik didn't have, and it's incredibly useful. It allows you to stop the flow of water without having to turn off the device, which makes it easy to switch between different areas of your mouth or take a break if needed. Another great feature of this water flosser is the four stream pik. This attachment is incredibly useful and does a great job of cleaning between teeth and along the gum line. It's really effective at removing food particles and plaque, which makes it a great tool for anyone who wants to maintain good oral hygiene. Overall, I would highly recommend the Panasonic water flosser to anyone who is looking for an effective and easy-to-use flossing device. It's much quieter than my previous Waterpik, which is a huge plus, and I love the pause switch and four stream pik. It's a great device and I will definitely buy it again in the future.

Good pressure, but lasts only a year or two
I have bought 3 of there unites during the last two years. One of them broke after 11 months. The second one is almost one year and seems to be failing. The third one is a month old and works well.

My new favorite water pik!
I love it! My water pick was leaking so tossed it and decided to try a Philips Pik this time. I have been using it for3 days now and must say I like it! It is cute and compact, not taking up much space on my bathroom counter. It is much quieter than the water pick brand. It only came with 2 attachments for flossing but a new kind that offer a cross wave of water that I like. It cleans my teeth well, I floss after use to test how well it did and nothing appears to be left behind. It seems to be a terrific, durable, reliable water pick. I would definitely recommend this, way more than the waterpik brand.

terrible design and QC
I've had bad luck with Waterpik (who used to make an amazing product years ago), so decided to try one of these. With the 1st one the tip would not stay latched in the handle and that was within a few days of use. Everyone in the family has their own (different brands), so this was not a re-insertion problem. There is a tiny latch that just wouldn't hold and tip would pop out as soon as powered on. Generally liked the unit, so sent it back to unfortunately be land-filled and replaced by identical one. Second unit didn't have this problem, but noticed after a few weeks that there was always a puddle of water seeping out from under the unit- it is always leaking now. Empty reservoir or not, whatever is left in the unit is draining out when off. Also, it was very quiet when new (not that I cared), but is now quite a bit louder. Sounds like others are having better luck with these. Maybe I can find something made in Europe that will work properly and last more than a few months. It's unfortunate that these things have a planned obsolescence and are expected to maybe last the duration of the warranty, then tossed and repurchased. Good for them, bad for us. Update 09/05/23- well it lasted 9 months. After leaking all over the place and getting the 1st one replaced as defective, this one died. Won't pump anymore. Others seem to be having better luck, but ever since Philips bought the Sonicare brand, their quality has gotten worse (but I'm sure they made the stock go up!).

The best flosser
Love this flosser. It fits right by the sink and so easy to use. We previously used a cordless flosser that claimed to be waterproof. It wasn't. This has all the power we need to get our teeth clean.

Solid
I actually bought this over a year ago and kind of stopped using it for awhile. I think I just relied more on brushing and some regular flossing but it's annoying dealing with floss sometimes. Now Im revisiting this product after a few months of no use, and the water flow was stuck. I called customer support and they mentioned you can point the stick downwards to help with clogged water, probably due to gravity. They were very patient with me. I felt a bit silly being upset thinking it didn't work anymore, but the device was totally fine. I appreciate that there are different intensities and speeds and different heads depending on what you're looking for. It's a nice clean design to reduce the wiring, and takes up minimal space. It will feel similar to experiences at the dentist, a lot of water and it takes maneuvering to get used to how to use it. But so far all my philips tooth products have lasted quite some time. I'm glad I have this!

Designed to fail? (Follow up)
This is a follow-up to my recent review. I wanted to get to the bottom of it and disassembled the device. Overall I was very impressed with the engineering design and quality of manufacturing. This is an extremely well refined and intelligently made device. Almost everything is made utilizing plastic molding technology, allowing for a high degree of functional integration, and cost reduction for mass production. Yet, its Achilles Heel indeed seems to be the output valve housing. I cleaned and lubed everything, put it back together and ran it with a stronger, red food dye. I spare you the grizzly pictures - the splash pattern suggests it's indeed coming from the output valve housing. Interestingly enough, a February 2025 review from one other user seemed to have identified the exact same issue. (Initial review: This was my second purchase of this item. The first one lasted about 2 years. The second one lasted 15 months. Same failure with both units: sudden massive leakage. The water just started dripping out of the bottom and all over the counter top. Having had a career in product design in engineering I of course was curious about why and how it failed. So I opened up the unit and inspected. I actually ran food-dyed water through in hope to pinpoint the source of the leakage. Turned out to be a bit inconclusive as the water ended up splashing all around inside the unit. Yet, both times there were a few hints that the leakage originated from the pump- and valve-housing. Clearly, none of the internal hoses or hose connections failed. What I found most astonishing was that the internals of this product are all excellently engineered, designed and fabricated. So, why would someone make a great effort in the engineering and manufacturing of this product, have it fail in the same spot all over again, and not fix the problem? I would think that consumers prefer buying products that are reliable and last for a while. I would think that companies compete by making the best product at affordable cost for the consumer. But what is this: Because one part fails, the other 50 or even more parts that are still working and might last another 1-2 years and longer all end up in a landfill, or worst case, in our food chain? Would I buy a car, whose transmission fails after 5 years, and the only option I had was to buy a new car? No way! But would it be acceptable for just a $80-100 product? I don't think so.)
