I've been buying Eneloop rechargeables for years now, and they're still going strong. I have no idea if they last longer than other rechargeable brands, but they last a long time for us, so that's all I care about. We have the Panasonic Eneloop charger and it gets plenty of use. They're reliable, and I haven't had a single issue with them over the past 3-4 years. Buy as many as you need and keep a few as spares while you're recharging the spent ones. Sure, it's environmentally friendly, but even better - it saves you tons on battery costs.
