Will this fly away if I leave the window open?

Valid question.......Yes!!! I didn't have a window open, but spent days chasing this thing around the house before trapping it as it perched on a closet door.

What about scalability? If I would need more coverage, can I combine this router with mesh satellites?

this AXE11000 (RAXE500) router has NO built-in wireless "mesh" backhaul channel to connect with mesh satellites wirelessly. like any router, you can extend the wifi range with as many wifi Access Points as you may need. (connected with ethernet cables). you can connect mesh satellites too, albeit still via ethernet cable. that makes them effectively Access Points as well. the distinction between Mesh Satellite and Access Point is really only the way they connect to the router, ethernet vs wifi backhaul. this router does not provide wifi backhaul channels. but Mesh Satellite sounds so trendy. must be worth the difference.

Do the gigabit ports support link aggregation?

The AXE11000 user manual p14 on Netgear's site says either/both WAN and LAN port aggregation are possible. But don't be misled to think that will increase your PC's internet download speed beyond 1 Gbps. It won't. Netgear likes to perpetuate that misunderstanding to promote their products. Link Aggregation is intended for Failover and Load Balancing only. The IEEE LAG spec specifically abandons methods like round-robin to boost performance via combined links (ports) because it could cause out-of-order packet problems that actually decrease performance.

Which mesh extenders are compatible with this product?

Any of the Nighthawk Mesh extenders are compatible, but currently there is not any WiFi 6E extenders available yet, so the 6E band will not be used when connected to the extender.
