I've tried two other patches to cover my sensors. I swim almost every day and found that the adhesive would give out before the sensor if left on its own. I tried two clear ones--they didn't really last the whole two weeks, so I would wait a while before putting the shield on and hope that I didn't knock it off in the meantime. And knocking them off was a problem--who knew I walked into door frames so often? Not me until I started wearing these! I've knocked sensors out after just two to three days of use. Doorways are the worst, but if I adjusted the location further back on my arm to avoid them, I would end up hooking and dislodging the sensor on the edge of my bed. So frustrating! The thin clear shields I was using didn't provide enough protection once I put them on. While they prevented me from ripping the sensor off my arm completely, they did not stop me from knocking them bad enough to damage the connection. With these shields, the plastic shield that fits under these is a great addition. It offers more protection from the knocks, but it also means that I can change the adhesive patch as often as needed without disturbing the sensor. I find that I usually need about a patch a week. The patches themselves feel more secure than the clear ones, are easier to put on, and are more comfortable because of the stretch in them. I considered deducting a star because they are also uglier and more noticeable, but I kept it at five stars because I'm so pleased with their overall performance. Update: I continue to like these better than any other sensor shield that I've tried. The plastic cover allows me to change the patch as needed without disturbing the sensor. I usually end up changing them after 7 days because the edges get a little ratty looking and start to come up. Since I'm going to have to change it when the sensor ends, I'll split the difference at a week, but it usually feels like they would have been secure on my arm for a few more days. I do find that my skin likes a periodic break from whatever they use for adhesive. If I wear too many in a row I will sometimes get a rash, but if I periodically wait a few days before putting on the sensor, then my skin doesn't complain at all. I give my arm a break from these every 4-8 weeks as needed. I recently bought a 10-pack tin of novelty patches from the company because I needed another cover and thought I'd add some fun/variety. The unit price of the novelty patches is about 3 times more than these, and I have had MUCH less success with adhesion. I'll stick with the basic model from here on out.

One of the things about having to wear a Libre 2 sensor on the back of your arm is that it can get caught and rip off. This product has that 1 extra thing. You are supplied with a plastic cover to cover your sensor. It has a small hole in the centre of the cover so yes, it appears to read the sensor just fine. Then you put the bandage on. The bandage does loosen in the shower which is easier to remove and replace. I have sensitive skin but haven’t had a rash or irritation yet from the adhesive. Since wearing this product, it’s prevented a few sensors from ripping out. If I get caught, the bandage is on the cover — not my sensor. Not a perfect system, but certainly has helped keep my sensor on.

These work very well. They are breathable, which is so important. Back when I was using the cheaper plastic based CGM covers, those would pull at my skin and leave painful rashes behind. These don't do that at all. They are easy to apply by yourself. I like the little reusable plastic cover - it gives extra protection. Be aware that these are sticky all over so they stick to the cover as well as your skin. Other types have areas with no sticky in the middle to accommodate the sensor, but if you use the cover you need that sticky area. I've never had any problems reading my sugars with this on. I recommend it. 25 may not seem like a lot compared to the amounts that you get with some of the cheaper plastic ones, but with the 14 day sensor, it breaks down to about 50 weeks of coverage for like 10 bucks - which I think is very fair.

Having purchased a similar brand previously for the past year (just the patches, without a hard shell) I was underwhelmed with the quality. I was losing sensors often due to the patches coming off, sometimes within hours of application. Talk about frustrating - yes the sensors would be replaced by the manufacturers but the patches are supposed to prevent this situation to begin with. And yes I know how and where to apply the sensors. I was skeptical when I purchased the Kovoq Libre Sensor Covers and the Reusable Hard Shell but I had nothing to lose. From the moment I applied the first patch I could tell it was not going to budge. And it didn't. I've only worn it for 4 days but it has stayed snugly on my arm, the edges are securely stuck, even after daily showers. This has been a much higher success rate than my previous patches already, even with just a few days of wearing. I also like the fact that the hard shell prevents compression lows overnight, as I sleep on both sides. I've changed sensors today. The patch removal was also easy and painless, and it peels right off the hard shell with no residue left behind. I would have waited until the next sensor change to write my review but I also know I would have forgotten to do it. I highly recommend this product if you have tried others in the past and have been disappointed.
