I can't extend the telescoping case, what is the trick? It was hard enough to open the flip lid!

When the tube is collapsed, it locks pretty securely. There is no real trick to opening it. you just have to pull very hard. Once it is opened and closed a few times, it gets easier.

Which blades are best for cutting pvc pipe? thanks

Usually anything with a higher tooth count (TPI) will work best and provide a smoother cut. Higher tooth counts are usually metal cutting blades but can be used in wood also, for a much finer cut for precision.
