We recently purchased a house and the light pole/lamp post that was already in place was pretty pathetic and was tilting so we needed to replace it. This guy kept popping up in my search results so finally I decided to give it a try. This pole turned out great! First of all, we went from a one bulb to a three bulb so there's much more light which is great. The pole itself seems to be very well made and sturdy. The hole thing is easier to put together than I originally thought it would be. This lamp post looks absolutely gorgeous and definitely catches your eye in the daytime. We'll have to wait and see how it holds up through a touch Maine winter, but so far it seems like it's there to stay. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase.

This is a nice looking, sturdy lamp post with one problem: There are 3 missing nuts and lock washers that are needed for the lower rod on each light. The piece of paper showing how to assemble it does show hex nuts on both the upper and lower rods (see my picture). So, they are clearly supposed to be installed. Unfortunately, when I opened the package, the upper rod had the nut and washer on it but the lower rods did not. Interestingly, the video that shows how to assemble the lamp post ALSO shows the three nuts/washers missing on the lower rod, as shown circled in my attached clip of the video. Unfortunately, the man assembling the post does not mention these missing parts, even though he clearly had to notice them. If you read earlier reviews, you will see that many people have commented about these missing parts. So, obviously mine was not an isolated case. Since the lamp post seemed good quality with black powder coating on all parts, I did not want to return the unit. Instead, I went to Menards to get the missing parts. I got (3) 10mm-1.0 hex jam nuts (Midwest Fastener Corp. Part Number 87591) and (3) 10mm Split Lock Washers (Midwest Fastener Corp. Part Number 81486). The total cost was about $4.00. Depending on where you shop, there may be other brands. Just make sure to get the 10mm-1.0, which is extra fine threads. The 10mm-1.25 or 10mm-1.50 are coarser threads that will NOT work. The hardest part during assembly is rotating the nuts when installing the three lights. The mini-wrench that is supplied is worthless - way too cumbersome. To make the job really simple, use a ratchet wrench! See my second pic. Since the outer diameter of my purchased hex nuts were a bit larger than the supplied hex nuts, I needed two size wrenches - a 14mm ratchet wrench for the hex nuts supplied and a 17mm ratchet wrench for the hex nuts that I purchased from Menards. By rocking the ratchet wrench back and forth, it took less than one minute to tighten each hex nut. It is a shame that the manufacture continues to send out boxes with the missing nuts. However, I am pleased with the final product. Yes, it is made from lightweight aluminum. However, it is very sturdy and the black powder coating should make the finish last for many years. Update 2-2-25: I installed a Lutron Diva wall dimmer to this light. I am happy to report that the light bulbs supplied with this lamp post ARE indeed dimmable! PS: I wrote this review strictly to help others who encounter the missing bolts. This was NOT part of a promotion or anything like that. I hope it helps you!

I wired this lamp into my 12 volt ground lighting system and purchased lamp adapters to use 12 volt LED bulbs. I'm happy with the purchase. Although my kit did not have the instructions for assembly or I may have lost them. But I'm a happy buyer and I would buy it again.

I needed to install a new wired light post in my front yard, and this kit contained most of what I needed to get it done. The walkthrough video available on the product shows how generally simple the process was, and shows how each of the parts in the kit are used. I had a professional electrician do the wiring and they also did the cement base that the supplied bolts were secured to, but I walked them through the assembly and showed them the video so they knew how it all lined up. The only complaint I would have about this lamp is that I was hoping to splice in an external plug for powering seasonal lighting, but the non-uniform surface to the post made this a but uncertain, so I opted not to try that. A more uniform cylinder of a post would have made that possible, but then, it wouldn't look as stylish as it does now. This light provided by the supplied bulbs is very bright and lights up my whole front yard, which is exactly what I was after. This might be a bit too much light for others, so factor that in when purchasing this lamp post. I redid the lights attached to the exterior of my house to match the general shape and look of this lamp post, to really tie it all together. Very happy with my new lamp post, which looks great during the day and at night.
