Works as described in the description
Use this with my FastFerment conical fermenter. It’s been in the triple digits outside, so ferment inside where it’s 73 degrees. I started out using two 2 liter bottles of frozen water, and after the first day stayed with just one. It’s controlled the fermentation temperature at 69 to 71 degrees, changing the bottle out every 12 hours. Works good enough that I just purchased my second conical fermenter and insulation blanket.

Awesome for ales, lacking for lagers.
Overall, this is an excellent product and I'm happy with it. However, I have not gotten it down to lager temperatures no matter how many frozen 2L bottles I put in it. I have 8 2L bottles in there now and my brew is at 62 degrees in a room with 70 degrees ambient temp, with swapping out half of the bottles daily. Getting fermenter temperatures in the 60's is no problem and that is great for ales, but I'll be doing my lagers some other way. The jacket is well made of good materials including a good zipper and I expect that it'll last a long time.

Used this for my Spike Conical
I use a cooling coil and pump with my 5 gallon Spike Brewing conical, and I was having trouble keeping it at temperature with a bucket of glycol in my freezer. I wanted to avoid spending nearly a grand on a glycol chiller, and I didn't want to spend a few hundred on a AC glycol chiller build either. With my Spike Conical in this insulator, all the temperature control issues went away. I can crash down to 35 degrees no problem, and I was surprised how well it fit.

Works, but not quite ready for prime time
Using it right now on a lager. It works, but just doesn't 'feel' right around my fastfermenter. The pre-made holes are awkward to line up with top bubbler and with temp gauge. There's velcro along whole zipper to help seal it up, but honestly, having so much velcro becomes a nuisance. You're fiddling with the zipper and nudging things, wondering if you're messing up the seal.I do like it and I am going to use it again, but the whole setup just feels kind of rickety. If I could talk to the designers, I'd ask them for some simple sort of frame to go inside -> maybe I'll make a little 1" pvc skeleton to stick in there

This held the temperature pretty well
I almost lost a batch of beer to my Nest thermostat. We were having unseasonably warm temperatures and I keep my fermenter downstairs where there are no bedrooms and the Nest thermostat kept letting it get too warm over night. It didn't kill the yeast, but it must have been at the top edge of the Yeast's temperature range because the fermentation was so aggressive that it needed a blow off tube even though it was a normal gravity beer. I got one of these insulated fermenter jackets, a thermowell to keep an eye on the temperature and some frozen 2 liters. Granted, the weather was much cooler the next time around, but this kept the fermenter 10 degrees below room temperature. There was very little fluctuation unless I opened it and added or removed ice. This is an inexpensive way to control fermentation temperature until I can get thermo-controlled chest freezer or something.

Good value
Will work good with 7 Gal. Fastferment.

It can work for cooling but it’ll take some extra effort.
A few notes on this thing. It will certainly help you with temperature control. That said, it takes a bit of work. I was using this to ferment a lager. My home is 78 degrees all summer. I live in the south so that’s just life. I used over a dozen frozen 2 liter bottles to maintain the temperature I needed. The directions state to place the ice in the bottom of the jacket. This won’t take temperature down more than around 10-15 degrees in my case. I created a suspension system with 550 cord around the top of my fermenter. This made all the difference and I was able to hit my target of 50f or less. I also had to switch out water bottles in no more than 24 hours or the temps would rise.It gets 4 stars because of price and that it does insulate. If it cost any more I’d give it 3. The directions and YouTube videos really don’t give an accurate description of how much ice is needed to drop temperatures. Most importantly placing ice on the bottom just won’t do much especially during primary fermentation.
