Worked very well. Identified that we had an issue and also confirmed after rectification. Would buy these again.

Trust. The advertisement send to be misleading. The pictures tall of de texting 50 bacteria. The fine print is 50 bacteria, but only if the chloroform family - ecoli. They say results in as little as 24 hours. If the test is negative, you have to leave for an additional 48 hours. (Total 72.) AND THEY DAY NOTHING ABOUT THE TEMPERATURE. THIS IS NOT A TEST PER SE, BUT A CULTIVATION OF YOUR WATER. I'M THE FINE PRINT, OPTIMUM TEMPERATURE IS 95.5⁰! So this this why the wild swing from 24 hours to 72 hours for a result. I find the warmest place in my home to leave the samples. They stayed the light yellow color - negative - and no shade of green or blue - positive. I bought these as I have continued red rings that grow from clean water in both toilets. Again. My "test" culture growth results were apparently negative from the 2 sinks in my home. But because of the marketing jargon, I'm left with an uneasy feeling to trust the results. Science likes honesty. I hope my $41 pack of 4 tests were worth it. They appear to have worked. But I still have these red rings I have to do more Google work to find out about.

This is a good product. Their tech support is also good. I've gone through maybe 8 of these during our struggle to get our well bacteria back to zero and want to share some info that might help. What I discovered is that shocking your well and plumbing alone is not enough- you must be super careful when taking your water sample and choosing the faucet for testing. The faucet should be one of the old-fashioned two valve type, because those modern single handle styles use a cartridge that could allow bacteria to survive the shocking process. If you don't have any like that, then I've read that you can use an outside water hose faucet but I didn't try that. Next make sure the areator is off- that's a bacteria reservoir too. You are only testing the cold water, so make sure the hot is turned totally off. Next run the cold water to see if you get splashing back up from the basin- if you do, then your test could be ruined so figure out if you need to lay something down in the sink or maybe pull out the drain plug. Next thoroughly clean the faucet end with diluted chlorine or isopropyl alcohol (I used 100% isopropyl, but 70% should work if it's fresh). Use paper towels/cotton swab to really get into the threads and around the exterior too. Finally run the cold water for 5-10 minutes to get clean water to the tap and to rinse off any leftover disinfectant. I tested using the "just run water" method and got bright green positive bacteria within 24 hrs. I then retested with my method above and finally, thankfully, got negative coliforms. To anyone reading this, believe me, I feel your pain and wish you success!!
