I had professional install only because I'm not that handy & didnt want to ruin when wiring rear camera Otherwise, installation looked easy and now that its installed, works wonderfully. easy link up to phone & excellent clarity

Been shopping for dash cams for our vehicles and this particular one seemed to fit and check many of our boxes. With the added bonus that it would install flawlessly into the body work or the car was the selling point along with how easy the online videos showed the install would go. It arrived well packaged and all spelling and grammar appeared to be spot on. NOW, the videos/directions show an easy pop off of a cover on the inside of the windshield. THIS was really the only issue I had with the install. On this first step, I popped off the cover and replaced it with the one that came with this dash cam and I immediately snapped off one of the front (facing front) plastic guides. The return process went flawlessly and for a brief second, I thought this just is not the product for me. I ordered another one and this time, I used physics and realized what went wrong the first time by watching all those videos and it went on just fine. There is a little of a gap between the new cover and the inside of the windshield, but there is no rattling around and operates just fine - not sure the gap wasn't there in the first place and I was not going to remove it and check. Didn't want to push my luck. The second issue may have been me not paying enough attention but let me just warn everyone, do not take the weatherstripping completely off; just remove the bottom part and tuck the cable into the vehicle. So, besides those two things, the install looks like it came from the factory and so far, so good. The app is working good. The dash cam creates its own WiFi, so just connect to it, watch the stored videos and download them if you want. To wrap this up, well worth the effort and so far, it's definitely worth the money. The videos simplify the install just a bit too much, so take your time.

5/9/2025 late update. Camera is having major issues connecting to my iPhone 16 to review my videos/pics. Takes 10-50 times or more to get it to connect to the camera WIFI signal. It is saying it can’t connect, then out of the blue it connects but memory (vid/pic) are all erased. Next day same thing says it can’t connect. Is there a software update I can use? Love the camera but I need it to work 100 percent of the time. If not what good is it??? Original review Just what I needed with all the crazy drivers out there. Installed in less than 10 mins.( no rear camera installed yet. But I did purchase the duel camera. Records in 1 min increments and hold almost a month worth of videos. Dallas Tx to Branson Mo and back were all there thanks for having such a nice camera system for my 2017 Lexus Rx450h.

Installed the front camera in about 10 minutes. Very easy to do. However, I ran into problems installing the rear camera. If you route the cable in the headliner area, you have to run it behind the side curtain airbags or it will interfere with them should they deploy. Got past the A-pillar airbag easy enough, but the B-pillar (the area between the two doors) was too difficult to run it through. Tried using a fish tape, but I had no way of knowing if I was running the cable behind the airbags. So, I rerouted the entire cable toward the floor and to the bottom sill plates. Much easier to route/install, but I ran short of cable. I need to mount the rear camera at the top of the rear hatch, where the rear wiper keeps the window clean. However, I was about five feet too short. Contacted the company asking if they have (sell) extension cables. Got a little attitude from customer support; saying they sell a lot of these and it is long enough for everyone else. All I wanted was to buy an extension cable; I didn't need the condescending attitude too. He did send a link and I was able to order a 6.5 foot extension.

Installation was acceptable, but not as easy as shown in the videos. The Fitcamx front camera did not latch easily into the OEM overhead console—I had to push very hard and was concerned it might break. Running the rear wiring took some time, but that is not related to the product itself. Once installed, the camera looks very neat and blends well with the interior. Video quality is average. Daytime footage is good, but night performance is disappointing. I compared it directly with a Rove 4K camera mounted on the same vehicle. At night, the Rove camera clearly captured license plates, while the Fitcamx footage was overexposed and license plates were not readable. Additionally, audio recording does not work on my unit. I tried resetting the camera through the app, using the physical reset button, and toggling the audio on and off in the app, but none of these steps resolved the issue. I checked the app and only hear static noise. I also downloaded the TS files to a computer and tested them in Media Player and VLC—still no audio. I even uploaded a clip to Gemini Chat for testing, and there was no audio there either.

Dashcam is bery easy to install and works great. I have not yet installed the rear camera because it requires to run a cable all the way ro the back. I probably will have it insralledbt professionals.

The installation is a little bit of pain. I like that this blends in with the interior of vehicle and product works well.
