Catches Northern Pike all day long

This is already becoming my go-to spoon. I purchased it a month ago and it has caught a lot of fish already, it's covered in teeth marks from pickerel. Works very well over weed beds and through lily pads while remaining mostly weedless. I use a curly tail grub as a trailer and fish hit it hard. I retrieve it as fast as I can without causing the spoon to spin and I pause briefly every few reels. The spoon is built pretty well but quality control seems to be hit or miss. Looking at the older ones they definitely aren't made like they used to be but this is still a good lure for a few bucks. You will definitely need to sharpen the hook when you get it. Once it's properly sharp I find the hook up ratio to be really good especially with a short trailer. If you fish weedy spots and want a lure to cover water you can't go wrong with this. They have caught fish since the 1920s and still work great. This is a killer summer lure for ponds, put a silicone skirt on it and throw on a funky trailer and you will have fun.

Best lure for fishing the sound side flats. Works great for trout, reds and even flounder.

Does not move well in the water

I have used the Johnson Silver Minnow for years. One of my favorite lures for fishing grass and lily pads. Today's vast selection of trailers only increases its effectiveness.
