Simple Decorating: 50 Ways to Inspire Your Home (Inspired Ideas)

This little book is packed with ideas and color photos. I have Melissa's other books and love them all. I don't always re-read my books but hers I do. I love her writing style-it's like sitting with a friend chatting over a cup of coffee or tea. (With her it would be coffee!) The only negative I can say about this book is that I've seen either these photos, or ones like them before. Since I have her other books (and follow her blog, The Inspired Room) I'm already familiar with her home photos. Maybe in her next book she can include pictures of other homes that are similar to her style? Just a thought. All in all I'd buy this book again. Definitely a favorite author!

The writing in this book is okay, it's genuine. It's also extremely basic and not anything I haven't read or seen before. The book is also a VERY small paperback not much more than a magazine. There are less inspirational photos that I would expect as well. Overall I wouldn't purchase again.

The information and photos in the book are amazing but the book came falling apart which was very disappointing. The first time opening it up the cover of the book came completely unglued.

I am looking for as many ideas as I can to make my home a very welcoming place and also a place where I can become more creative .

Melissa’s books are always wonderful! They encourage me to clean, decorate and organize my house.

I look at a lot of design books so this one had no earth shattering ideas but is a great summary for basic, good design. I gave it to my newly married daughter to help her set up her new home.

Love this book!

Many advice on mood etc... Very few useful advice. Useful advice coul be just three pages long. Pictures only include blue and white, not many examples of other combination of colours.
