decision making, thought provoking, resilience
This book made me think about the decisions i have made, both in my personal life and professional life. About decisions I have seen other leaders make. And how different (and impactful) would they be, if I re-visited those decisions after reading this book.Loved the examples cited in this book, though would have loved to see some examples from APAC as well. The book has a self-assessment that is very thought provoking.Awesome book, makes you think about your personal resilience, team resilience and leadership resilience. A must read, in my opinion, for all readers, irrespective of the universe you operare in. We all make decisions and this book opens up new ways of thinking about our decisions, using both emotional and cognitive dimensions.

A momentous book on a scarcely addresed but critical subject
The authors of this book has taken up the challenge of writing about a concept hardly addressed in management literature: resilience.Normally authors focuse in frameworks, methodologies and strategic principles and foundations, but they miss a critical point: the players, the people that will have to go through the effort of applying those teachings and techniques. In "The Resilient Decision-Maker", the authors drive us through the basic tenets of resilience, at personal, team and leader level, and the emotional and cognitive resources required for those facing the challenges that our life and careers present us.The book is filled with real-life examples that illustrate the authors' approach to developing and expanding our resilience, including business cases from successful entrepreneurs, and describing them in a way that can be applied to all of us.The third part of the book provides a self-assessment guide to establish our own level of resilience, and guidelines on how to work to improve it.With this book, professors Lampel, Barnejee and Bhalla have succeeded in bringing this subject, in a straight and clear way, to the foreground of managerial literature. Finally, I would recommend this book as a gift to every manager that tries to implement an operating model, a framework or a methodology, but that forgets that his efforts will be as successful as the resilience of the team and the people in charge of implementing them.
