I purchased this Type-H power tap cable in Jan 2024 for my 2023 Kia Niro EV Wave. Even though my vehicle model year was not listed on the Dongar website's compatibility table, the cable fits fine and works AOK. I had seen some videos showing a very short Type-H cable of maybe 2 inches between the male & female ends of the harness. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a cable that (as shown in the Amazon listing) was a much longer cable of approximately 7-8 inches between the ends (see attached photo). The extra length makes it much easier to install. Also, I had read a few reviews that said the product did not come with any USB cables. I received 3 cables (each cable is 20.5 inches long tip to tip): 1. USB-A to USB-C; 2. USB-A to USB-micro; 3. USB-A to USB-mini. All 3 cables are straight type (no right angle connectors). The cable kit is a bit expensive for what it is IMHO but its worth it for ease of installation of a dashcam. Cheers!

Was super easy to install! The cover for the mirror pops out easily with the included tool. The shrowd around it opens up providing plenty of space to tuck everything neatly. No visible wires anywhere! Works without any other steps aside from unplugging the mirror harness and then plugging in this adapter between. Some feedback: the included usb cables were a nice touch but making them angled 45° would be way neater. I used the cable that came with my cam instead for this reason. It is a lot longer but I was able to tuck it in easily enough. Also, I know all cars are different, but some instructions would be nice. I was able to follow a YouTube video and get it in. Not even the most basic instructions were included in or on the box making the entry level of this item significantly higher; not everyone is comfortable taking these parts of their car off. It's fundamentally easy though given basic steps.

The device functions by tapping into the powered rear view mirror and the adaptor is ordered by car model. It was easy to install even by a fumble-fingers older installer. The single detractor for which I subtracted one star was the USB-A to USB-C cord was shorter than I had preferred. The USB A extension to the adaptor is long enough to reach the rearview mirror cover near the dashcam which does make the adaptor cord long enough. However, I would have preferred to install the adaptor end inside the plastic rearview mirror casing and have only the cord reach the dashcam. However, the items in the kit function perfectly and my comments only reflect my preference for a cleaner looking install. (The longer cord I wish is available via a third party. Again he product as promised and delivered works perfectly. for BOTH the front AND rear dashcams.

This does not fit the 2024 Hyundai Sonata SEL despite it being on the supported list. The pins are different (12pin) vs the 10pins that this adapter has.

Yes it is easy to install. Lots of YouTube videos covering it as well. Time to install would have been quick except for a factory fault with it. The rubber around the USB port trying to install the supplied leads was blocking the port. Had to bend it back with a screwdriver to make USB lead fit. Obviously shouldn't have to do it so lost a star for it. Otherwise would have been 5 stars. It is a great piece of kit. I've hard wired dashcams before to the fuse board which need more knowledge. This is a simple DIY job for anybody avoiding any electrical work like that.

Man where have these type of devices been. I have installed my fair share of car electronics, routing and hiding wires and tapping into power has always been a big Pain. Not with this, start to finish 10 mins. Went back and decided to take pics for this review. While this part is for Hyundai/Kia they have parts for other manufactures, though I believe if you have any 10 pin connection that the power mirror/garage door opener in the car plugs into I can not imagine much difference. But you should always get the one for the vehicle being used. This item is straight forward, PERIOD! Makes for a nice clean professional installation, no more hanging wires or screwing up door post or tearing dash pieces off or searching for the correct fuse in the panel. The price is well worth it knowing it is designed for exact fit, you may find cheaper plugs, but do you really want to risk the electronics of the car to save a few $$. Dongar has been around for many years and is highly trusted. Side note this plug dies not support 24 hour power nor does the power mirror or garage door openers built in. When the car is on it powers these items as well as the item(s) plunged into it. If you need 24 hour power for a camera for parked collision sensing you will need to go yo the fuse panel. And hope the battery is new enough to handle the drain when off, while only 5 watts or so it is enough to drain a battery. His many have left a interior light on over the years? So don't low star or rate this item because of what it will not do! Instead rate it for the time it will save you from wiring a dash can or radar detector with a professional touch.
