Big enough for bigger blades?
I got this on a deal and it's certainly good value for what I paid, with the case and extra blades, though it's a little weird in that the handle can accomodates blades larger than what comes with it. I guess that actually means you can get other larger blades potentially, but I don't know which are a good fit for the handle or compatible with that case so a little research is needed I guess, and potentially another way of carrying the alternative blades.

Good scalpel knifes. Blades are so-so
This a good scalpel-based knife. The one I received holds the blade solidly with no play. The knife handle is strong (seems to be anodized aluminum) and has a good liner-lock and a nice ergonomic shape. The blade can be opened one-handed although it can't really be "flicked", but it opens well enough. Maybe some oil or some adjustment could make it open faster but since it holds a scalpel blade, I'd rather have it open slowly. The plastic blade holder it came with allows you to dismount the scalpel blade without touching it, which is great. The blades mine came with are not as sharp as one would hope for. However they can be honed to a usable sharpness. This knife will take a number of standard scalpel blades, so you can get a blade as sharp as you want, depending on what you spend on replacement scalpel blades. The packaging this came is in really nice, suitable for gifting.Color is not what I thought but I kind of like the greenish-yellowish color.I think this is a great value as long as you temper your expectations on the included (non-sterile) blades.

Too bulky
I wanted a very slim folding knife suitable for everyday carry (EDC) to handle light tasks, like opening Amazon boxes. But this Swiss+Tech Folding Skinning Knife is very fat (20mm), twice as thick as my EDCFANS Titanium Folding Pocket Knife (9mm). Both knives use replaceable scalpel blades, but this one comes with blades that are thicker (0.57mm) than other scalpel blades I have purchased (0.37mm) Both types will fit on this knife. Overall this is a beefier knife with many more features, but I prefer the EDCFANS knife due to the simple, slender design that takes little space in my pocket. I miss the vintage key-fob or watch-fob knives that were popular until around the 50's; they were small and amazingly thin, and often had attractive handles made of silver or gold. You just can't find a modern knife with that quality and style any more.

Nice and compact
Exactly as described. Compact with changeable blades. Very sharp.

Great idea, poor execution
Look closely. The blade is held by plastic. This will not last long as a result. Technically this is a Flipper, but with the stud placement and no spring assist requires 2 hands to open. It does have a good liner lock, a nice ergonomic feel, and feels solid when you use it, so much so that when the plastic fails I may try to replace the blade mount with one from a surgical scalpel. With a steel blade mount AND spring assisted opening - as well as moving the thumb stud placement, this would sell at 3x the price, and still be under 30 bucks! Still, I am confident I can drill or press the pins, so I bought 2 more. They are very handy to have around.A word on blade replacement for those of you who have not spent 1000s of hours using surgical scalpel. The plastic blade tool they send is a marvel. Use it. When it breaks use the following method: holding the scalpel so you can see the bottom of the replaceable blade, use the thumbnail of the hand that has the handle to bend the bottom of the blade up just enough to lift it above the mounting tongue, then use the other hand to pinch the blade at its dull spine edge to pull/slide the blade off the tongue (* the cheap black plastic stud the blade mounts on).To replace the blade safely, I use a hardcover book, piece of wood, or a cutting board. (*cadaver long bones work in a pinch) Here's how: After removing and properly disposing of the old blade examine the mounting tongue. It has a groove in it you can't see when the blade is installed. Holding the scalpel and blade as above (from the dull side again), place the blade over the tongue and start sliding the slot in the blade into the groove in the tongue. The blade will bend slightly and it WILL get stuck (the blade bending acts like a spring lock). Insure you got it about halfway, then use your cutting board, or something else that won't dull the blade tip, place the blade on that surface, with the scalpel above so that a gentle push can slide the blade the rest of the way over the tongue and the blade snaps into place. Oh, and if you seldom change blades, oil the ones in the dispenser, high carbon blades rust faster than what you may be used to. ARE THESE HIGH CARBON? I was able to easily strike a spark with a firestarter, so yes, they are.

Rock Solid
I processed my 2024 Blacktail buck with this knife using the gutless method. It performed flawlessly! Blade changing is quick and easy! Which I did midway through. I liked it so much that bought two more, one for a backup, the other for my buddy. I hope it’ll be offered in a day glow orange for visibility soon!
