These self-healing targets generally work really well. Once I shoot off the legs (it's bound to happen), I plan on hanging the plate by the hole up top.One star deducted when comparing the Birchwood Casey brand self-healing targets to the other brands that I've shot. The Do-All 4" ball, the Caldwell 5" cube, and the Champion duraseal spinner targets ALL heal up better and any holes left behind are smaller, if not existent. The BC targets are brittle and small chunks are already missing from the hexball, and I only shot it with 22lrs.Another star deducted because Amazon forgot to include the pack of stick-on targets, and when contacted, said that I need to return the plate when they ship out an entire combo package. Just send out the missing targets instead of making me work for your mistake. This is the third order within the past year when there have been missing items.

The product description states not for air gun use. I bought one to try and it was great! No issues at all at 40 yards shooting a high power air gun. I did notice that the pellet didnt penetrate the target so that would lead me to believethat the pellets may have a tendency to deflect off the target. I saw no evidence of this happening. The pellets just flattened out very nicely. With a low power gun at short ranges it may be a different story? I will test the target at short ranges with lower power guns and update if necessary, and yes The spring worked very well even with the air rifle. At this point I would have no problem recommending this target for air gun use and I will be buying more!UPDATE: Shot this target at short range (10 yards) with low to medium power air gun and pellet deflection was a serious safety issue! Safety glasses are a must!!

got 3 of these and have shot them mostly with a 9mm and a 12ga with bird shot/ skeet . The 9mm leaves little holes in them but it actually stopped pellets from the shotgun, you could see them just trying to come thru the back side but just not quite. Eventually this will be shot up/out but so far its holding up rather well.Stays up, even the 12ga barely made it pop over, can hardly see it move when shot with the 9mm.

So, here's the thing. I can't tell you if this is a good target practice item. I didn't get it for that. I have a 164 Mastiff/Great Pyrenees combo. His name is Tank and he's awesome, but he's hard on dog toys. He has swallowed whole tennis balls. That's bad. So, when I saw this and read what it was for, I thought it might make a great toy for Tank. And it has proven to be AWESOME! It has lasted a full 24 hours with him (a record), showing only minimal deformation. He loves chewing on it and even falls asleep on it and he'll growl in defense of it, even in his sleep. So, I cannot speak to its intended purpose, but as a dog toy for a giant breed, this thing is the best.

Reallly fun target we take along on prairie dog hunts. When the shooting gets slow around lunchtime, we put these in the field at 200 yards (using range finder) and have some fun and ensure our rifles are still shooting straight). The front barely shows a mark and the back is self healing as well. They come with some stick on targets that are great for shooting competitions to see who buys dinner at night.

Just right for rimfire action. It just does not move - wiggle as much as I would have liked. Springs are pretty stiff and short so no much movement.

Fun to shoot ball. Worked well with a 40 S&W but 22 pistol did not move it on grass. Just playing at the end of the day and bird shot stuck in the plastic but really made it move!

Great reactive target and very easily visible. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because the provided sticky targets do not remain attached to the target for very many shots before falling off. Other than that this target works as advertised and appears to be very durable.

Couldn't be happier with these - they take a beating and don't really break down. Brings fun to guns on the farm - great to chase it across the property.
