Brought guitar to life. Powerful but smooth.
In my situation this has been an excellent pickup. I put it in a LTD M-100FM (great budget metal guitar btw) which is basswood.. Stock pickups were grainy although decent enough for metal/rock, but it lacked character and was feedback city. The Pegasus has given much more life & balance to this guitar. More body to the sound. Its supposed to be medium output, which has restrained/fixed the feedback issue I had, but still has balls and definitely rips! I think it's slightly mid-scooped but it added perfect amount of bass and smoothed the treble on this guitar. It handles distortion very well, you can hear the individual strings sing. Very versatile, smooth yet articulate & powerful sound. Cleans sound excellent. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this pickup.

Best bridge humbucker ever
This by far the best bridge humbucker I’ve ever had. Not only is the tone fantastic but I was shocked by the amount of sustain it has. I have a couple of tracks I’ve done where only this pickup gives me the sustain I need. My Dimarzio’s just don’t have the sustain for me to be able to play certain melody lines in songs I’ve written, this does and sounds great. I’ll be replacing my Dimarzio bridge position humbuckers with the Pegasus in the future. I mainly play guitar virtuoso stuff like Satriani and Vai and this gives me excellent tone. Even better than the MoJoe pickup. If you’re doing metal it’s great for that as well. It’s very versatile.

Amazing Pickup - Eclipses the "JB"
Bought this as i've been tired of using the "JB" as a hot pickup since the 80s. Love the tone out of this thing - have installed in two different super-strat types. None of that honk one gets from the JB. Very smooth overdrive/gain, but also cuts through a mix.

Pegasus, paired with Sentient are a match made on Mount Olympus.
Whoa! I replaced the stock pickups on my Jackson JS32 Rhoads with the Pegasus, pairing it with the Sentient. Yes. These brought my guitar sound to LIFE. My chords sound brilliant, even with distortion, even jazz chords! The soloing is more clear and articulate, it sings. The pick attack is awesome. Really good for Progressive Metal/Rock, Neoclassical Metal, Jazz, Rock & what have you. So versatile. This one is a trembucker, F spaced. Since my guitar has a Floyd Rose bridge I needed this one as it's properly aligned with my strings. Be sure you know whether you need the humbucker or trembucker for the bridge pickup, the difference is important. Well worth the cash.

with a nice balanced EQ
I am really impressed with this pickup. I would say it is clear and full sounding, with a nice balanced EQ. It is lower output than I expected, but in a good way, which is why it remains clear under high gain. It was the missing pickup for a mahogany/ebony super strat that I could never find the right match. If you play metal but want something that isn't overly congested with good articulation, definitely worth checking out.

Great pickup
I had a TB6 distortion and it sounded muddy, harsh, inarticulate, and too compressed for my taste, so I opted for the Pegasus and everything improved: balance, definition, articulation, dynamics. The Pegasus really cuts through the mix; it's one of the best I've tried.

Like a JB but better
I have this pickup in three different guitars, works for high gain stuff but has a really nice sound for cleans. It’s not compressed at all, reacting to the right hand dynamics

Outstanding Clarity and Punch!
The Seymour Duncan Pegasus Humbucker is an absolute beast! I installed it in my Randy Rhoads JS32 project guitar, and it delivered exactly what I was looking for—tight lows, clear mids, and smooth highs. The clarity, even under high gain, is incredible, and it handles chugs and leads equally well. Perfect for modern metal and progressive styles, but versatile enough for anything. Easily one of the best bridge pickups I’ve used. Highly recommended!

Came in 2 days rather than 2 weeks which was nice. This pickup is very good in my godin session ht. It's very clear but warm and round sounding. Comparing it to the seymour duncan omega that i have in another guitar it's different but just as good. The omega is tighter with a lower mid range growl and very aggressive sounding, very good for djent, death metal and thrash. It's a bit bright and scooped but sounds very good still. The Pegasus is warmer sounding with a upper mid range growl and is very good for 80s metal to modern power metal. The eq is pretty balanced. Get the Omega if you want a djent brutal death metal machine, get the Pegasus if you want a clear modern power metal pickup that can still get tight when boosted. Both are very versatile and split well. The pegasus adds more glass when split but the omega sounds more twangy when split. If I'd chose to keep one pickup to keep I'd keep the pegasus with my style of playing.
