This may be the best universal sized bracket style mount on amazon (one where each side is attached independently, and so it can fit various sizes of devices). These are well built steel brackets, decently powder coat painted, and the included pads (which you have to stick on yourself) are attached to all three contact surfaces, preventing scratches on your devices. Additionally, they include some double sided sticky dots that are used to hold them in place while you drill the mounting screws in (i.e. you stick them to the bottom of the desk to get them just right, and secure them with the screws once ready without needing a third hand, or to flip the desk.) Regarding thickness of devices that can fit, the laptop pictured here is a 15" mobile workstation, and about twice as thick as normal laptops. Even so, there is plenty of room to slide the laptop in and out when I need to commute with it. Also, this is the model with the headphone bracket. I've enjoyed it, and mount a wireless on one side and a wired backup on the other (visible here). There are more aesthetically pleasing options, but it certainly does the trick, and I don't imagine it will give me problems.

Comes with 3 metal brackets and screws into surfaces. Solid. Highly configurable. Gets the job done. Holds up my fat gaming laptop with no issues. For best results make sure it can screw into the surface it’s mounted to. Mounting tape and commands strips only work so well and it’s not designed for that. When laying out the brackets, the brackets will cover up ports and ventilation. You’ll need to be mindful of anything you’ll need open to make sure you don’t cover up anything on accident. Otherwise you’ll need to move the brackets and rescrew it in.

I really like how functional this is. My only complaint is that two different sized screws are put into the same bag without any identification. I should have looked closer but what company doesn't separate different hardware?!
