Snowy white attractive and modern dining set with both dinner plates and ‘blates’ / pasta bowls.
The good All pieces arrived safely, all fingertip checked for even minor chips and none found. Delivered triple boxed and layered between corrugated card. Elements boxed separately to reduce bumps and risk of breakage. Shape is as expected, colour is pearl white. Items are regular. I specifically liked that the set is 16 not 12, having both dinner plates and shallow bowls/“blates” for eg pasta. The cereal/dessert bowls are a standard size, probably slightly smaller than I might have wished but not unreasonably so. Dinner plates similar overall to standard dinner plate dimensions, albeit including the rim, so don’t feel unduly large. Did struggle to fit in draining rack though and they’re heavy. Washed as unboxed and all washed well and without incident. The less good. The underside of items are slightly rough as the ‘stand’ rings aren’t glazed. Not a major issue but rough enough to be felt on the hand and may scratch delicate surfaces unless mats are used. Nowhere on any item does it state the material is porcelain as per info here. However, the unglazed parts certainly have the chalky look of it and the glazed parts also have the appearance of porcelain. To be fair, I have porcelain Alessi crockery that isn’t stamped as such. The could have done better. One of the cereal bowls has a glaze imperfection (a very small double bubble) right on the rim. It doesn’t impact usage but should have been spotted in quality control, not least as it’s on part of the item likely to suffer greatest wear and inspection. One of the items has a single small black speck in an otherwise snowy whiteness. It’s not enough to send the set back but again quality control should have spotted it, not least as all the rest are perfect. So, deducted one star for 2 imperfections and that nowhere does an item say it’s porcelain as stated in the listing. However, that feels somewhat harsh (but half stars aren’t a thing here) as I am happy with what I received, the price paid and the quality overall. A nice modern dining set, weighty and icing sugar white.

Quality not as expected
I like the overall design and set but there are a few abhorrations (small indentations; rough elements; proud dots of ceramic) and the base of the plates comes through on the surface of the plates as circular indentation. For something so minimalist it needs to be better than that. I would have returned them but it was too close to hosting a meal before Christmas. I wouldn’t recommend.
