Cute
I don’t know a lot about Godzilla but my grand lives this toy. It’s made well and takes a lot of rough handling from him. One of his favorites

NECA Delivers at a Reasonable Price, Yet Again
For reference I have the Monsterarts Shin Godzilla as a comparison. I would say this compares favorably to the Monsterarts, the sculpt is nice, not as good as the Monsterarts, but really good for NECA, the head could be better. Paint is more consistent, with the only flaw coming from the transition from the back dorsal spines to the tail, it goes from thick red/orange paint to like none at all, quite jarring. The tail sags a little from the weight, and the joints may be a little tight and could use some breaking in. Overall, I would put this up there with the '54 and '14 Godzilla figures in terms of overall quality. I am pleasantly surprised at NECA's ability at the pricepoint every single time.

8.3/10
Overall neca shin Godzilla is a great figure. The painting is pretty good and the sculpting is great. The range of motion seems to have potential but the joints on mine are really tight and probably painted/fused together a little bit.

Bad condition
I received the item box broken and dirty. This product is very expensive for accepted it for my grandson Christmas gift.

An impressive figure, but be wary of broken or loose parts
NECA's Shin Godzilla is another solid figure from the company, and is the third best in the line in my opinion, after 1954 and 2001. Promotional images don't do the figure justice, as they make its head look weird and not very film-accurate. On the figure itself though, the head looks appropriately menacing and mostly film-accurate, complete with the unnaturally extending jaw. The rest of the sculpt is reasonably film-accurate as well, with a bumpy texture, plenty of patches that look like open sores, a thin torso atop large, wide legs, large spongy-looking dorsal plates, and of course Shin Godzilla's unique incredibly long tail. I do have a few mild nitpicks with the sculpt: the teeth could have been more detailed, they are disproportionately small and not quite as sharp as they are in the film, and there aren't any of the vestigial teeth growing outside of the mouth. Th head is also a bit too elongated, but not too a severe degree. There's something off with the texture on the legs that I can't quite place, it might be how the figure opts for red scales rather than folded cracked skin on this area. The feet also only possess four digits, while the maquette used to create the CGI model for the film also had a fifth dewclaw digit along with many vestigial claws growing all over the foot, another feature not present on the figure. The end of the tail also isn't quite entirely accurate, as the skeletal face is hard to make out on this figure, and there are weird bone-colored bumps on this area on the figure as well. Some pictures I've seen of the figure have it standing mostly upright, but mine is perpetually leaning downward, as if replicating how Godzilla stands when he first fires his atomic breath in the film. I actually like this touch, as it makes the figure look really cool and draws away attention from any of its flaws. The figure's greatest strength in my opinion is its paint job. The majority of the skin is black, with red in the appropriate locations. The figure also wisely mixes up the shades of red, with a brighter red in some spots, a darker red in others, and even a few small spots with an orange color. The red-to-black fade on the dorsal plates is a very nice touch. My biggest complaint with the figure is its apparent fragility. My figure arrived with its right hand detached, and though I was able to reattach it, it still tends to fall off frequently. Posing the head and tail also causes these pieces to come detached easily, though they don't seem to be broken like the hand. The head on my figure has a mild case of slackjaw, with the lower jaw unevenly lined up with the upper jaw. This is only really noticeable when the mouth is fully closed though, and thankfully I tend to keep it posed with the mouth fully opened. I would advise buyers to be careful with the figure and keep an eye out for potentially broken pieces. Overall, I'm very impressed with NECA's effort on this figure. It's not quite on par with the Godzilla 2014 figure as far as film-accuracy, but it is in my opinion the best figure to date for this incarnation of the King of the Monsters. The Bandai Japan Godzilla 2016 is a solid figure as well, but not nearly as impressive as the NECA version. The S.H. MonsterArts is likely technically superior to the NECA, but given the asking price for that figure and the complaints its quality has received, the NECA figure is by far the better deal.

This is a really nice representation of Godzilla
This Godzilla is "Buffed Up" meaning really cool. I've been watching Godzilla since I was a child. I actually own a few of the earlier movies. I have not seen any of the big theater releases in America, Godzilla 2000, or any after that. I could not tell you which one this is modeled after, but I'm not one of those collector purists who have to have every specification identical. This is a cool looking Godzilla, I like the lava like tale and the red down her back. That's right, Godzilla is a female. I still have it in the box. I will be taking it out, I'm just waiting on more figures to arrive

Perfect for a kid not a collector
It's decent as far as paint, some blemishes. The head is nowhere near movie accurate nor is the body sculpt, close but no cigar. The bottom jaw has a terrible case of under bite. If they were to go back and remold the head so that the bottom of the jaw was the part to connect to the ball joint it would certainly take care of the under bite and be far more movie accurate. The dorsal plates are off from the movie as well, unlike most of the other neca Godzilla figures his plates are not even on both sides and a few are in the oddest places which also really takes away from movie accuracy. S.h. monsterarts has the most movie accuracy though it's head isn't quite correct either. From a Godzilla nit and collectors stand point this gets a 5 out of 10 for movie accuracy and sculpt. Articulation isn't that great either. If you have a kid that loves Godzilla and shin Godzilla this is perfect for a child. For a collector who wants articulation and movie accuracy save your money and get the sh monsterarts, or if you don't care about articulation go for the xplus I ts by far the most movie accurate from all angles. All in all an ok shin to start with, though it lacks a lot. It's decent. Oh and if they added one more section for the tail it look better. Decent is all it gets not great. The best and most movie accurate figure for neca is the 2014 Godzilla, it seems like they took there time and did that one justice, all the others are hit or miss. I'm a stickler for movie accuracy, sculpt, paint application, and articulation. This one in my opinion failed to meet my standards as a collector and Godzilla buff. Thank got they didn't make the 98 zilla, what a p.o.s. that movie was. Giant iguana should have been the title. ...

Eh....It's ok....
Kids like it but its super hard to put on tailpiece and it keeps falling out. Have to glue it and then there's no range of motion.

Guten Tag! MfG Streiner Bernhard [email protected]
