It’s an amazing knife it is really sharp it can gassy cut thru cardboard or paper but it is a safe knife the double detent on the knife does not close to fast and easy so it is safe it is small it is the kind of knife die you will forget you have in your pocket and is not visible it is a nice deep Carie pocket clip it flicks open nicely and sounds amazing same for closing and you can open it like a Swiss Army knife also and it’s only 40 something dolers it is an amazing ideas and civivi is a good trusting company one problem it’s small so when you hold it choking the back of your hand on the back blade could not be safe because it is non locking but if you know what your doing it is a very safe and amazing knife and does not get damaged easily very happy with this purchase.

Bought this for my retail work cutting packaging, ect. Color me impressed Civivi. So far I've purchased this knife and the mini Praxus and im impressed with both. The ki-v is one of the best budget knife options out there, with very little to complain about. Pros- The blade shape. I wasn't convinced on this sort of tanto-edge shape, but it is no slouch. The edge. I don't think I've ever purchased a knife for sub $75 that came shaving sharp from the factory, but this thing shaved the hair right off of my arm easily. No sharpening required out of the box, for me. Your experience may vary depending on who was on the grinder that day at the shop, but mine came razor sharp. Fantastic g10 handle slabs, with good ergonomics. The front flip is a little stiff at first but after 15 minutes of flipping it's smooth as butter. Clip is stiff, which is good. Extremely light, which it should be for a small knife. Cons- This knife does not have a traditional lock. There is a detent where the blade will "lock" when the blade is extended, but a little pressure on the top of the blade will push it out of alignment. Not the biggest deal, especially because you won't be bushcrafting or batoning a knife this small, but it isn't as sturdy as a knife with a liner lock, ect. Pocket clip isn't reversible for tip down carry, again it's a small knife so there isn't really room for it anyways, but I prefer tip down carry. The gimping on the blade isn't really as rough as I'd prefer, my finger can slide over it really easily. Overall, this knife is fantastic, I'd absolutely buy another. I'll be purchasing more Civivi in the future.

Why did I buy this knife to EDC. I work on different customer sites every day installing computers and network equipment, This means I mostly open shipping boxes. I came to realize that I don't need to carry a big knife to do that, but also wanted a pocket knife could do more than that. What I like about this little knife after 3 months of EDC with it: It is really sharp and continues to hold it's edge Easy to operate, open and close Quality clip that is easy to use on different thickness of jeans, uniform pants, coat pockets and clips to my tool bag too. This knife stays in place once it is clipped on It's a conversation starter Good looking Easy to conceal Good grips One hand open once you get the hang of it Light weight Drop tested by me 8 feet Nice action to open Durable as the black coating is holding up well Comes with a cool sticker, box and cleaning patch Fast shipping This is a quality product and I will buy from this brand again.

When I received this little knife I liked the funtionality but the pivot action seemed very rough. The gritty pivot seemed to worsen over the next couple days so I requested a replacement from Amazon. There was no problem and a replacement arrived in a couple days. But... the replacement's pivot was even rougher. I liked the design of the knife so I decided to see what I could do to correct this problem. I tried a couple drops of fine oil (I used KPL original oil). This helped a bit. Next I put a piece of heavy vinyl tape over the blade edge and flooded the joint with the oil. I then spent the evening opening and closing the knife while watching TV. The tape kept me safe from cutting myself. The knife isn't perfect yet but it is much, much better. I'm hoping it will continue to improve with more fidgeting over time. I'm going to keep this knife. I really like the design of this knife. It fits perfectly in the fifth pocket of my jeans. It is perfect for opening boxes and envelopes. Just great for all the little tasks. I have several Civivi knives and like them all. They are a great value. I'll try to update this review to let you know if the pivot gets better or remains marginal. I think it is going to break in and I'll carry it for years to come. UPDATE 9/6/25. As expected the pivot is getting smother the more I use it. I'm thinking that a dry lubricant might have been better for the ball bearings, but I had already used knife oil and I didn't want to disassmemble the knife to clean it. I use this little knife several times each day and seldom reach for my full-sized EDC knife. If the knife pivot fully breaks in and becomes smooth, I will raise my rating to five stars.

Cool knife shape, . Pros it’s concealable, it has a flipper which is great for deployment however wish they’d make the flipper tab bigger so there’s more for your thumb or fore finger to catch. It’s really small super lightweight like I said cool blade shape kiridashi kinda wharncliffe style with good jumping on the back.Good detent slip joint makes it easy to close, good handle material g10 pretty smooth. Does the job cutting paper, boxes bags, twine fun to play with. Cons: its small with only a 1.55 blade, it doesn’t have a lanyard hole you’d think for a knife this size it would have a lanyard hole to help draw it out of your pocket rather then a deep pocket clip. The g10 is really smooth not alot of grip, it’s a slip joint meaning it doesn’t lock may be a con. It’s so light weight you can easily lose it. Overall I’d say the Kiv is a decent lil knife does light work not gonna scare anybody if you used it in public fun to play with unique blade design. So much so I also ordered the kivs bigger brother the kiv 2 with a bigger 2.52 blade and a liner lock in all black so excited to compare the 2. Civivi makes some interesting and versatile knives which has made me a new fan
