General Pencil 557BP Charcoal Pencil Kit, Multi-Colour, 5-Piece

Have been using charcoal for my artwork for years and these are by far the best charcoal pencils that I have used. Sharpen well and the soft pencil blends really nicely. Would strongly recommend.

These are often mentioned in art books and tutorials and so I was curious about them. They are very good quality. Better than other brands of charcoal pencil and close to Nitram for mark making.

Good quality for art

Excellent pencils, but never try using a sharpener for them - always use a Stanley or they will break. I use these for all of my charcoal works, and they even work as a base layer to glaze with soft pastels after. They do deposit a lot of charcoal, but also a lot of sediment when blending due to just how much they put on the paper. 2B is perfect for sketches and basic midtones, 4B is excellent to deepen your tones and 6B layers almost like a flat black - the white and kneaded eraser can combine all of these to create incredibly smooth gradients with ease, and the white can bring out highlights and make them pop. I can’t recommend these pencils enough, I use them all the time for my work.

This make was recommended by my art tutor. Great value and excellent quality. Best to sharpen with a craft knife or blade.

The best charcoal pencils on the market in my opinion. They generally don’t snap when sharpened like most other pencils out there. Highly recommended

Ayant essayé les charcoals de la marque Général's lors d'un court de dessin, j'ai tellement adoré la sensation sèche du fusains et grasse et lisse comme un pastel de ses crayons sur le papier (que je n'ai trouvé dans aucune autre marque même les plus grande et connue ) que j'ai pas pu résister à les acheter, je vous les conseille!
