Compact and Lightweight
I ordered this brush because my existing kabuki brush is starting to wear out pretty badly so I am looking for a replacement. I'm not sure this will replace that brush, but it will definitely become one of my regular travel brushes. The bristles are soft and densely packed which is great for blending creams or liquids. I personally like this for bronzing or contouring as the bristle consistency is perfect for the products that I use for that purpose. Because the bristles are dense, you do have to get in to them quite a bit to thoroughly clean this brush, but if you do, it seems to clean and recover nicely. I love that this brush has a retractable cover so when I'm done there is no worry about mangling the bristles as I close it up. The only challenge that I had with this is drying it, as it's too big to put in my drying towel and so I had to prop it carefully using some bottles for support, so it wouldn't misshape or get water in the base which may cause problems in the future. I do recognize that this is a fairly pricy brush, but I do think the value is there for it, but if price is a concern, there are similar brushes at a more budget friendly price point that I would recommend over this one. If price is not the concern, then this is a good option, especially for travel.

Good travel brush
This brush comes packaged in a simple box, nothing fancy. It has a lid and is retractable, kind of like a tube of lipstick. The actual bristles are a bit on the short side, but maybe my other brushes are just longer. The metal container makes it very nice for travel, because the bristles will not get crushed, nor will they get makeup all over your cosmetic bag (or purse, if you put it there). I generally use natural bristles, and these are "vegan," which I suppose means synthetic. That said, they are soft and do a good job with powder, which is what I used it for, so I can't speak to how it would work with foundation. It is much more expensive than my other brushes, and I don't see any particular reason why (that is, it doesn't seem better), so I took off one star.

Like the brush, price not so much
I like this is travel friendly because I am a haphazard packer. I have a smallish hard side plastic box I carry my "face essentials" in and don't bother with specialized makeup bags or kits. I throw everything together and this is great at keeping the brush 1) clean 2) protected during trips. It's a kabuki so nothing super special about it's other aspects. Note I am not a professional and I and not even a beauty guru. I pick up a brush and use it for whatever--haha So, this is used for powder and foundation and even concealer. It is way overpriced in my opinion, though. It looks to be a replica of the Laura Gellar which is actually cheaper than this one. I'd suggest to shop around because at this price you could buy a decent full set of brushes. This particular one should be no more than 1/2 this price in my opinion but maybe you're paying for the name.

decent quality
I found this to be pretty good/decent quality. Not too much shedding, not too much streaking. It’s small and compact and I’m not sure I actually love that, but would be very convenient if you travel a lot. The only thing that really holds me back on this product is the price. It’s comparable in price to much more well known brands (if not more expensive) versions of this product and I don’t think it’s quite as good at buffing out as they are. You can find equally good brushes by smaller brands for much, much cheaper than this. I’ve only tested it on foundation and cream blush as I don’t use powder foundations and use a lighter touch than this offers for setting powder but it worked well for those wetter products. Can’t speak to how it works with powders. While it’s a fine brush, I do not think it’s worth the price they have it at.

Just what I was looking for!
Lune+Aster Kabuki Brush. I was looking for a kabuki brush that is retractable, covered with a lid and also effective. This brush covers all 3! The brush bristles are fine, very densely lined and very soft. The brush appears well made and made of quality materials. The handle is easy to hold and use. It applies and blends in my foundation and concealer well. It's less messy to use and more even than when applying with my fingers. It works well and doesn't redden my sensitive skin. I like especially that it retracts and has a lid to keep the brush cleaner and also prevents the residual makeup left on the brush from getting all over my drawer. And b/c it's compact and lidded, I can easily travel with it. Nice covered kabuki brush!

Great travel brush
When I first got this, I think I played with it for like 30 minutes. The case is super cool and is designed to keep the bristles dense and in place as it sits in your make-up bag or purse. As you pull off the cap, it extends over the bristles, so keep it safe as you put in and take off the cap. When you're ready to put it away, you pull up the extender and put the cap on. The application is really nice. It has soft synthetic bristles, that are densely packed as you'd expect with a kabuki brush. I found it easy to control and it gave a good finish to my complexion products.

It's Okay, I Guess...
It's okay, that's pretty much it. I like the soft densely packed bristles. It's perfect for applying any liquid or powder foundation or concealer. The design is perfect for travelling and it's quite hygenic too as the brush does not get dirty in your makeup pouch. However, as much as I don't like writing negative reviews - I don't think the price of the product reflects the quality at all. I received mine and it does not look brand new at all compared to the pictures. It may sound harsh but I think you can get a better deal elsewhere. It's still a good product though, if you have a lot of coins by all means go for it!
