I read the mixed reviews on this product, but thought I'd give them a go as they were reasonably priced. I have a 4 year old boxer whose nails grow ridiculously quick (they're also very tough). I also have an older dog with mobility issues, whose nails aren't getting worn down on walks because he can't manage them. The product itself is very easy to use and the light come in very handy. It has various 'edges' to achieve your desired finish. It's also quite quiet, which makes it less intimidating for the dogs. Both the dogs are fine with it, despite the boxer being initially apprehensive, and manicure time is pretty easy going in this house now. Only down side is it takes longer to charge than what the description states. However, I find if you charge it at the end of each use, it holds well so its ready to go when you need it. Would have been nice if it came with a little pouch to keep it in but thats me being very picky.

I bought the 4.8v N50 version. I've had numerous other battery powered nail trimmers and all of them took much too long to trim all of our dog's nails. He was fed up, I was fed up, my back was fed up, ..... until I tried this one. I did have a question regarding charging (which has been answered thanks) - it took longer than 3hrs to charge initially. The light did finally change from flashing red to solid green for fully charged on a mains 5v charger so it's not faulty. After trying the trimmer, I'm well impressed. It's certainly quiet enough and definitely fast enough even on the lower 8000 revs. Did a whole paw in around 5 minutes whilst being careful to only trim for a second or two at a time to prevent any heating of his nails. With gentle touches you can round the nails off nicely without needing to file them afterwards. Nice job. The two different sized slots come in very handy. I used both as well as the side option to trim quickly on the long nails initially. The twin lights are very useful and bright enough to enable you to see what's going on while you trim - or can be turned off if not needed. I can definitely recommend this trimmer to anyone with a dog. Best trimmer I've tried yet and don't intend looking for anything else now. This is an excellent product - it's fast, fairly quiet and the charge lasts a long time. But the largest port is too narrow for my lurcher's nails, I have to do first one side then the other, leaving a raised area in the middle.

These are amazing for trimming my Great Dane’s very hard nails. I’ve always hated traditional clippers for fear of drawing blood, but I got my Dane puppy used to these and I trim his nails every couple of weeks whilst he chews on a pig’s ear or two, (he’s 2 now), otherwise he’d just get up and walk off. I did have the 7000/8000rpm version, which were good to get him used to them, but not quite strong enough to get much off. I have two of these stronger 8000/1000 powered ones as they work quicker and after 10 minutes I get through the charge of both, as you can tell the motor is starting to struggle and not take so much off. My other old 9 year old Dane has never let me clipper her nails, but even she now lets me grind her nails with this whilst she chews on a pig’s ear, as she’s seen me do my younger dog, and wants the treat! This is a game-changer and cheaper than regular groomer visits to clip them. My tip is to get them used to having it done as a puppy if you can, and using a treat for distraction.

I hate clipping my dogs nails just in case I cut a little too much and cause pain or bleeding. This has made me more and more reluctant to clip them, but now with this brilliant nail file, I don't have the same concern. There are lights on the grinder so that you can see through the nail, where the blood supply ends and with the motorised file it is very quick and beats the lengthy back and forth hand filing by far. A little noisy but what a small price to pay for a very helpful pet tool.

Easy to use and my dog screams usually at nail time yet fell asleep after 5 minutes. Can only hold against nail for 5 seconds or gets too hot so takes awhile I go nail to nail then back again takes 15 minutes per paw 3 times a week for long nails less if your hound just needs quick trim. Light is brilliant Easy quick charging Lot to like but big thumbs down for the overheating too quick as job takes soo much longer

Arrived quickly, good quality and value. Jasper usually gets his nails clipped at the vets as he walks mainly on grass & woodland and doesn’t file them naturally on concrete. He wasn’t keen at first, but liked that you can leave the cover on whilst switched on to allow him a good sniff and feel against his fur first before the taking cap off and using it as intended with the guard on. He quickly became more confident so we will do these little sessions daily and file his nails down bit by bit. We recommend :-)

The sound isnt exactly loud but it has a high pitched buzz that the dog at first hated. I'm still getting him used to it by positive reinforcement. But I think it will be a while before he will allow me to do his claws without trying to run away after each point of contact. I am also slow with it as I have never used one before. And still haven't figured how to do the dewclaw without him freaking out yet I imagine if you get this when you have a puppy it would be great value for money. As they would learn to accept it early on. It's great that it's rechargeable via mains and not battery operated, and it has a torch for seeing the nails better. It also has the option of larger claw and smaller claw on the protective barrier.

Has a loud, high-pitched sound when used. If you have audio sensitivity, make sure to use ear plugs when using this. Aside from that, works well.

My old nail grinder was a Pedi-Paw that used a rough sandpaper grinding surface and a very weak motor that ate 'C' cell batteries. I have a medium size dog (43 lbs., 6 years old) who I have ground her nail weekly for her entire life, so she is used to having her nails ground. This Casfuy Dog Nail Grinder has just been such a technological leap for both of us. The unit will run for roughly 3 hours per charge, but it only takes me 5-8 minutes to grind her nails, so I will only have to charge twice a year. The grinding wheel is permanent diamond cutting surface which works very quickly and the LED lights really help you to see what you are doing. The motor is not that loud and the diamond grinding surface is so efficient, I only grind on the lower motor speed. The removable cover (turns counter-clockwise) has two guides that allow grinding either holding the unit with the grinding wheel down at a 45 degree angle to your dogs nail OR the grinding wheel facing upwards, again grinding the nail at a 45 degree angle. The 'dust' from the nail being ground does go airborne, so you may want to grind outdoors and/or wear a mask if sensitive. The unit does need cleaning after use to remove the nail 'dust' from the grinding wheel. I remove the top (counter-clockwise) and rinse it under water, then use a damp paper towel to pat the grinding wheel clean (unit is NOT running). The manufacturers also suggest using an eraser to clean the grinding wheel, but I did not have one laying around. IMPORTANT NOTE FOR GRINDING: If you have not ground your dogs nails before, remember to go slowly and touch the grinding wheel to the dogs nail for 1-2 seconds then remove it for 1-2 seconds, repeat. This prevents heat from building up and hurting your dog. Keep the grinder at a 45 degree to the nail (see the illustration in the unit manual) and look often at the part of the nail you are grinding to make sure you have not ground too deeply. This grinder removes a lot of nail quickly! If their nails are long, you should take several days (up to weeks doing it daily if they are really long) to get them ground down to the appropriate length OR have a groomer/veterinarian cut the nails (which may also take a few times since extremely long nails have the blood vessel going roughly 3/4ths of the length of the nail), then keep the nails the correct length. I walk my dog twice a day, mainly on concrete (around various suburban parks) and her nails still need weekly grinding. IMHO, it is not viable that walking keeps their nails worn down unless they are a working dog who walks all day. Set a schedule and grind their nails once a week and both of your lives will be better. Also, brush their teeth everyday with doggy toothpaste (Vibrac poultry or beef) for their health and your savings. Toothbrushing only takes 15-30 seconds as the goal is to get the toothpaste into their mouth and let the enzymes destroy the plaque. You do not have to brush for 2 minutes like for humans. My dog is 6 years old and has great teeth, no $1,000 dental cleanings and nice breath. Bad breathe generally means dental problems. Brush daily!!

J ai recueilli une chatte de la rue qui a des griffes incroyablement épaisses et qui se recourbent dans les coussinets. Une grosse galère à couper sachant qu elle ne se laisse pas faire même en étant sédatée. J avais espoir dans cette machine pour me sauver la vie lors de ces moments plus que très délicats! et ma foi je suis ravie ! ça m'a beaucoup aidé, même si j ai eu besoin de quelqu un en supplément car je devais aussi tenir le chat. la machine est douce mais très efficace et rapide. peu bruyante, avec une lumière qui aide bien! Sachant que les griffes du chat sont en plus noires, le fait de polir les griffes petit à petit évite le massacre du ciseau coupe griffe. La "meule" est protégée par un cache ce qui permet de ne pas blaisser l animal ! ça c est génial. Elle est rechargeable par cable. Bref je valide !
