Update January 2021 The mat lasted about 1 year without any cracks or problems, then I noticed a snapping sound whenever I sat down and located a crack about 5 inches long in the mat. It went another 8 months (until it was just a bit over 1.5 years old) then developed 2 more cracks. The cracks are all between 4 and 8 inches long and the mat still works ok, but it makes snapping sounds when I sit down or roll the chair on it. It's still useable, but I have to be careful not to put my feet on the cracks because they could get pinched or cut on the sharper edges of the cracks. In spite of the cracking, I've been pleased with the mat overall. It's sitting on a low "berber" style looped thread carpet so while it's not a high pile carpet, there is just a little give in the carpet and I suppose that's why the mat cracked. Even with the cracks, it still permits the chair to roll and hasn't developed any divots or dents that would make it unusable. The cracks don't extend to the edge of the mat either. I'll be buying a new one to replace the one I have, since about 2 years of use seems reasonable for something in this price range. Original review: The mat is very nice, thick enough that it should be durable. It is soft enough that I could lay it flat immediately after unpacking it and it hasn't curled on me, but it's still stiff enough that the chair wheels can roll easily. It offers just enough rolling resistance that my chair doesn't slide all over the place every time I move so I really like how this chair mat feels. I've had it for a few months with no cracking or other issues so I think this is a good one and I would re-purchase it again if I needed another one.

I recently had to replace a worn-out desk chair mat and settled on this one. My previous mat was also an item I had purchased from Amazon. It lasted about two years before it began cracking and shattering. By the time I threw the mat away, it was full of holes. I was drawn to this particular item due to three primary reasons: 1.) The high number of positive reviews from Amazon customers. 2.) The words "Heavy Duty, Thick, and Sturdy – Non-Breakable" in the product's description. 3.) The reasonable price ($49.99). Naturally, I was skeptical (you never know until you get the item and can judge for yourself), but I thought I'd take the chance. As of the date of this review, I've now had the mat for ten days, and it's serving me well. It is indeed "Heavy Duty, Thick, And Sturdy," just as the product describes. My former chair mat (that's now retired to a landfill somewhere) began bowing and cupping under my chair casters nearly immediately. This mat, on the other hand, is nearly as hard as glass, and easily as smooth. There's no bowing, dents or cupping beneath my casters (I weight about 155 pounds). This mat does not have a beveled lip around the edge, however. My old mat did, and I liked that. I thought that that would be a detraction, but it's not. NOTE: The mat is used on loop pile Berber carpeting, so its base is firm, and not overly plush like cut pile carpets. Time will tell if this mat is indeed "non-breakable." So far, it has met my expectations and stood true to the description of the product. UPDATE: It has now been over five years (yes, I said "five years") since I first wrote this review (it is now December 2022), and I'm pleased to announce that this product has TRULY withstood the test of time. I use this mat for several hours daily, and there has been no bowing, buckling, or cracking under my chair casters, whatsoever. None at all (and I've, no doubt, put on a few pounds since the initial purchase). If you're looking for a dependable desk mat, I believe I can say with confidence that your search is over. 5-STARS – Recommended!

My swivel, roller desk chair sits on a fairly think rug with a mat under it. This mat is clear and sturdy and it has fairly sharp anchor teeth to hold it in place. I tend to roll my chair up to and away from desk, and from side-to-side as I work with printer, trash can and paper shredder off to the side. I roll while seated on the chair, so it bears my full weight. This mat seems quite sturdy and it affords a good rolling surface for my chair. My only negative comment is that the mat tends to move. About every 2 weeks it has moved enough that I have to roll the chair off, lift the mat up (because it does not easily move across the rug), and recenter it. I don't know what the solution for that might be since this mat has a lot of sharp anchoring teeth spaced about 1.5 inches apart. Just be aware that it does move.

Exactly what I was looking for! The carpets in our house are very thick and plush. The first office mat I bought (from somewhere else) started to dent from my chair wheels from the start and went rapidly downhill. This mat is perfect for my thick carpets. It is made from a very sturdy durable plastic that would be quite difficult to roll. It came packaged as a flat sheet in a cardboard box and was delivered in 2 days as promised. And the price is great too. When I looked at this type of mat in stores they were well over $100. You are getting a quality mat at an affordable price. I included a shot of sheets of paper to show the actual thickness of the mat but forgot to count the number of sheets. Trust me...it’s pretty thick! I love this so much I’m going to buy another one for my husbands desk. Buy this!!! You won’t be sorry.

I weigh 200 lbs and this chair mat does not deform under chair wheels so the chair rolls freely when I want to move around.. This mat is the best! Previous mats would deform and create low spots where the wheels would stay and make it hard to move from.

I use it under my desk and was very pleased with the quality of it. Very sturdy. Hoping it will last for yrs as I don't think there is any warranty on it.

This mat surprised me, turned out to be way more durable than expected.

I received my chair mat quickly. It arrived flat as described. The mat doesn’t appear to scratch or bend under weight which is exactly what I was looking for. I placed in on top of low pile carpet. It slides every time I move my chair or even step on it. The little prongs are not long enough to hold it in place. It is extremely frustrating.
