O2 Cool 5-Inch Portable Fan USB or Electric

Very light and blows a lot of air. Folds flat and perfect for traveling.

I am the kind of person that needs some wind blowing on my face and some background noise in order to sleep. I had planned a vacation to Ireland and knew that I would be staying in hotels every night. I bought this because it seemed compact enough for travel and had good reviews as far as the amount of wind that it put out. This thing literally saved me on vacation. If not for this little fan I would have been too hot to sleep. For its size it puts out a good amount of wind. I love that it plugged into my USB port on my computer too. Since I was in Ireland it used 200V outlets so I would plug my laptop in to charge it and just plug the fan into the laptop and point it towards me. It folds up nicely and fits into luggage well. I brought it back to work with me (I work in Afghanistan) and it is also a great fan desk. Just enough breeze to keep me cool, but not too much or too noisy. The only thing that I would suggest is that the plug be designed to fit into the base of the fan when it's not in use. Otherwise this is a GREAT fan and I would recommend it to anyone.

This fan is very successful in my small stuffy office plagued with hot flashes! It can be plugged into a USB port or a regular wall outlet. It is not super high-speed but is more than fast enough to create a good breeze from the desktop. It makes a bit of noise but it's extremely tolerable, and is quickly drowned out by ambient noise if people are talking (it's right next to my phone and causes no problems). You can fold it up or down on its base to change the angle of the fan, which is a quick and easy way of regulating the air temperature. My only complaint would be that the on-off slide switch could be located where it's a bit easier to reach, but that's a very minor point. I recommend it.

I used to have an O2Cool with internal rechargeable batteries that also could run on 4 C batteries or from the provided A/C adapter (I loved that thing) and had variable speed control, but unfortunately after about 6 years of using all day every day at work (I tend to feel hot so a fan is great), it started to die. I also used that fan during some power outages as a soft background noise when I sleep, man I miss that fan.So, I thought I would try another O2Cool fan. This one is simpler in design being USB powered only and the switch is on/off. The airflow from this little fan is rather impressive, especially since it is USB powered. The fan is fairly quiet just giving a very soft pink-noise (it's similar to white-noise but lower pitched and better as a background) from the airflow. The only thing I would change on this is adding at least a low/high speed if not a variable speed control.The base does have space for wrapping the USB cord, though it is not the easiest thing to do because it is a tight fit.This fan is not designed to be used when lowered against the base, there are no vents to let air in if you do not raise the fan on the hinges. Because of this it seems like it would be possible to put more electronics in the center, like some rechargeable batteries or space for some AAs to power the fan without USB, but it is exactly what I expected from the description and is worth the price. The only complaint is that it is on/off instead of high/low/off.

The first O2Cool fan I purchased was at a Walmart in Missouri while I was traveling. This was August 2016. I am the kind of person that needs some wind blowing on my face and some background noise to sleep. When the fan I packed broke, I purchased the O2Cool. I loved it. It finally quit working in April 2018 (3yrs 8 months) so I purchased another one on Amazon. That fan quit working in September 2019 (1yr 5 months) so I purchased it again on Amazon. This last one quit working exactly 10 months after purchasing. I bought it again on amazon in August 2020. This one lasted 2 months 10 days. I don't know if the quality of the fan has gone down over time or if the issue is the supplier on Amazon. The fans run at night while I am sleeping and work great when traveling in the US or internationally. I will look for an alternative

I’m a travel agent, so I travel. A lot. I’m also a woman of <uhhem> a certain age, so I like a cool (some might say freezing- looking at you, husband) sleeping space. Often cruise cabins and hotel rooms feel stuffy. Well, not any more! This little beauty weighs nothing and folds flat. No outlet by the bed? No worries- just plug it into a portable battery with a usb cable and it purrs all night. Speaking of purring- it provides a lovely white noise hum to drown out noises and (looking at you again, husband) snoring spouses. It moves a surprising amount of air and is the perfect addition to my travel arsenal! I’m going to be sending them as gifts to my clients!

I love it! I have it on my desk at work and use it every day. At the time of ordering we could not select the color but I got the color I wanted in fuchsia. I recommend it highly. Thanks again.
