I think this is a gr8 product, nicer looking than the standard plastic dog cage muzzles and hopefully more comfortable than they possibly are too. We bought it because our dog is fear aggressive, having been pinned/attacked many times as a puppy, especially whilst he was still whole. As a result, he seemed to think, that's what u do with puppies and whole dogs!! Once set up, there are two sturdy clips to secure it in place and an additional one to hold it onto a standard lead. My dog has tried very hard but without success to remove it.... no doubt that'll continue for a while yet. It aesthetically looks much nicer, less aggressive and more comfortable than a standard muzzle- we found people were shying away from our large but hugely human friendly labradooodle when wearing the previous one, which is not pleasant! I would say this muzzle is a little smaller than the dimensions suggest. My dog, a taller than average labradooodle measured in the medium range but I think I should have bought the large! He was at the top end of the muzzle sizing range and in the middle of the head/neck but we're using it at both extremes, on the biggest setting. Even so, I'm pleased with the item and would definitely recommend it. My dog is not a chewer but I would imagining he could make short work of it if he wanted to, although it all feels sturdy with good webbing, lots of thick/quality velcro, padding and decent sized clips. Well designed and well made, in short. Nevertheless, my dog hates it being put on (it's early days+I hope this will improve).... we've read all the advice regarding its use, cajoling him with treats etc but he's a very, very smart dog and won't he persuaded. I have to stand astride him and just put it on, regardless of his head wagging and generally evasive behaviour. I'd love to know any techniques.... livecake doesn't cut it these days!!

This has brought back the joy of off lead walking for our rather feisty Patterdale bitch. She has a tendency to try to de squeak small dogs she meets on her walks by grabbing hold of them and shaking. Even on a lead she is unpredictable. This little soft muzzle has taken the angst out of walking her. She has adjusted quite quickly to it and seems unperturbed by it. Having come across several small squeaky dogs on the beach the other day she could chase round after them but was totally unable to bite. She is still able to drink water and pant but no biting. The various none slip fittings allow for a secure and comfortable fit that stays in place even with a very energetic Patterdale inside. My only gripe is that the velcro fastening goes across her nose and makes the muzzle quite thick under her eyes. She is also able to get grass and sand on the velcro when she is tearing about and playing with our other dogs. Were the velcro to be under her muzzle it would be far less obtrusive and bulky. However, it does what I wanted and doesn't make her look like some crazed savage. I have bought another, they aren't cheap but are very well made. Living on a farm she does get quite muddy and they pop in the washing machine and come out as good as new so two makes life easier. I would recommend for anyone with similar issues.

My 9 year old rescue Staffie, Bruce, had previously been attacked, he was NOT in any way to blame, which has made him somewhat fearful of other dogs near his face. Unfortunately some owners let their dogs run free to approach any dog that walks by. Despite my dog always being on a lead and me asking them to control their dog, as my dog is nervous, they ignore me. Sadly, Staffies get a bad name, because of some unscrupulous owners who use and abuse this breed. I use a yellow ‘nervous’ lead but even this seems not enough. Therefore I decided to use a muzzle for my dog, when out walking. I wanted a less conspicuous, gentle muzzle and this fits the brief perfectly. By following the recommendations by GoodBoy, which are clear and detailed, my dog is gradually becoming more accepting of wearing the muzzle. It is necessary to be very patient and understanding with your dog. Plenty of praise and even more ‘treats’ can make the process less stressful....for both dog and owner! After a week of wearing the muzzle, during his half hour walks, he has become much more accustomed to it. He can still eat his treats and drink whilst wearing it. I do use the collar and small connector, supplied with the muzzle, for added security, these are a welcome addition to the muzzle. My dog has never tried to paw the muzzle off, I assume from this he finds it less intrusive and quite comfortable. The quality and construction of the muzzle is very good. The customer service from GoodBoy is exceptional. Always prompt and courteous with good advice. A very good company that deserves to go from strength to strength. Arrived 27/28th December and destroyed by the 8th January..load of rubbish.

We recently became the servants of a 5 month old Jack Russell girl puppy. While she is a bundle of joy most of the time, she has very sharp teeth, strong jaws, an inquisitive nature and a bark one would usually associate with a dog ten times her size. We quickly decided that she needed calming after she gets herself over-excited and looked for a muzzle to do the job. The Gentle Muzzle Guard looked a decent bet so we took the plunge and ordered one. It arrived next day and was soon put to good use. The muzzle worked almost instantly, calming her down and restoring normal service. I find now, after a week or two, that the muzzle only needs to be used for a few minutes before it is safe to remove. It is quick to put on, easy to remove, comfortable for her and doesnt make her look like a canine Hannibal Lector. I would recommend it to anyone with a boistrous pup, sixteen quid well spent.

Amazing in every way! I have a BIG 100lb 2 year old bloodhound that has been impossible to walk in my neighborhood, or even take to the vet clinic. My hound has definitely found his voice and when he starts baying it scares everyone half to death because of how loud he gets. Of course the reason they bay is to alert their owners of anything they're tracking a scent of that is out of the ordinary. Everything has a different smell & excites my boy whether it's people walking their dogs, strollers being pushed, bikes, cars, kids, & the list goes on & on. The most important thing I love is that this gentle muzzle guard doesn't cover his snout. Bloodhounds need their nose to sniff and do the job they're meant to do when walking. Even though I've only used it once it's definitely a game changer for me personally. I was afraid to walk my dog in our neighborhood so I ended up having to take him to a park where there's barely any people because he does unfortunately nip sometimes if people he doesn't know reach out and try to pet him. He's very protective of me and cautious. So for everyone's safety I needed protection without making him look so vicious like other muzzles do. For the 1st time in a long time I'm not nervous anymore around people or other animals. Does my dog like to wear the muzzle? Not at all, but like everything else used for training I'm sure with time he'll get used to it with positive reinforcement & of course good boy treats. Did he try & get it off?? Absolutely! Not a chance he'll win. During our walk he tried several times throwing himself down to paw at his face. He even pulled the I'm going to sit and not walk trick, but that's ok. I just let him do his thing until he gave up the fight and continued onward. After our walk he came home and drank water freely with the muzzle still on. I couldn't be more satisfied with this purchase. I wish I would have found this sooner!
