Out of all the rocks, only one decent fossil and lots of rubbish ones. These were to make goody bags for a treasure hunt, but it wasn't very fair as there were only a few decent bits and lots of rubbish bits. The quality of the crystals was hugely variable and all in all, I didn't think this was very good.

This fossil and mineral set is absolutely amazing! I got this for our kids but myself and my partner are blown away with how good it actually is.In the box you receive 5 bags, 1 bag of fossils, 1 bag of tumbled gemstones, 1 bag of crystals and minerals, 1 bag of specimen pieces and 1 bag of geodes.Each bag is awesome and our kids were so excited when examining each of the pieces. It’s incredible to think these fossils are millions of years old…it blows your mind!Whilst these fossils were small, they don’t take away from the awe and wonder that they omit. Equally as incredible are the other bags of gemstones, minerals and crystals.But the biggest excitement was the geodes. Our kids could not wait to crack them open.My kids who are 5 and 8 helped me hammer the chisel in to them, very carefully! Make sure your kids are protected with glasses or goggles as these things can shatter and ping all over the place. Thankfully, with the help of my chisel, our geodes stayed fairly well together. The technique is to hammer firmly but not too hard, take your time and you’ll get good results.Along with the fossils and minerals, you get 2 books, one which teaches you about fossils and another that teaches you about minerals. Both are excellent books which explain things simple and easy for kids to understand. You also get a guide of all the fossils and minerals names that come in the bags…give or take a few, they do explain that you may not get all the fossils or minerals show in the pictures. Theres even a guide explaining the best way to crack open your geodes, which is super helpful!There are a few added extras which are cool, a little velvet draw string bag that you can put you favours items in to transport along with a mini magnifying glass to study your new fossils and minerals, 2 sets of fossils and mineral stickers and a word search.Overall, I 100% recommend this to anyone. It really does open your mind to how incredible nature is and just how amazing it is to hold a fossil in your hand that’s millions of years old.There’s loads of items in this set with a heck of lot of information to go with it. It’s a perfect learning set for all ages!
