ASICS Women's GT 2170 Trail Running Shoe

I will admit, I don't have a lot of experience with trail runners, but the shoe is as comfortable as its running shoe counterpart, and it provides more traction for running on dirt ridge or mountain trails. The sole is also stiffer, so you don't feel the small rocks and roots as much when you hit them hard running downhill. They are nice and light as well, really like a running shoe. I don't know how they will hold up yet, and the trail I run on is maintained, so I don't know how they'd do "off trail" but for my purposes they are more than adequate.

I really like the shoe, and have bought ASICS shoes before. Size 6.5 has always fit just right, but I find these run just a tiny bit snug. But I really like the look and quality of the shoe. I am wearing them on shorter walks, until they "break in" for the longer trails. I would recommend these shoes.

This is my first pair of Asics 2170. I have been looking for a shoe with the extra cushioning around the heel to help with my recently developed plantar fasciitis. This shoe did the trick. I acutally tried on the Asics 2170 "road" shoe in a store for fit and immediately like it over other shoes I had tried on. I will say that the trail shoe has a much stiffer rigid upper portion of the shoe, I guess to help with stability and support when on uneven terrain. It was a toss up as to whether to get the road or trail shoe. I do walking/running on both terrains during the same session, so I opted for the trail shoe. (Besides the price on Amazon was an incredible bargain). To my surprise, it did give good support on very uneven grassy terrain mixed with rocks, although for serious off-road hiking, a hiking shoe with good support cannot be replaced. I am happy now to function at an almost normal level wearing this shoe with my plantar fasciitis, and even that has improved.

My wife an I started walking for fun and exercise and once we got up to 4 miles a day, he feet started bothering her to the point where we were afraid we might have to shut the activity down. She was wearing cheaper sneakers and we decided to look into the various online web sites that help evaluate your feet. As it turned out, the sites recommended this particular brand and type shoe. The shoes completely alleviated the foot pain and we are back on the paths again, thanks to them.Obviously if you are about to take up any sort of activity, you may require certain types of equipment. Good equipment can really help. These shoes saved my wife's aching feet... and our exercise routine. I highly recommend them, especially if those sites tell you to try them.

I have had ASICS 2170s for about a year, so I bought these as a replacement. I found them to to be very uncomfortable and put pressure on the top of my foot. In fact, I ended up with tendonitis! Be careful! OUCH!

I bought these from a local retailer (which I feel I need to do, once in a while). They are very good at assesing what I need based on what I do. Which is run on concrete and flat trails to get to trails that are both flat and hilly. I run on the flat and walk up the rocky trails. these are great all around shoe for me, I don't slip going down the trails like I used to. My luggage was stolen with these in it, so I repurchased the exact same shoe on Amazon and still love them. Wear almost every day.

These are great fitting, comfortable shoes. I have fairly wide feet and they felt a little snug when I first put them on. Within 10 minutes they felt like they had given a little and fit like a glove! My only regret is not getting the plain black (which I had before- (the Asics 2150) and which were my most favorite sneaker that I have ever owned....and that my dog chewed up) because it can go with most any work outfit. The color of these shoes is definitely hot pink and turquoiseand grey/white.
