I had a previous model of this sharpener. I love these as they do a wonderful job of keeping my main kitchen knives cutting like new.

Easy to use if you keep your knife sharp and need to touch it up.

The 10" chef's knife is about what I expected, though not quite as heavy duty as my 40 year old Dexter fish filet knife. I opted for carbon steel for ease of sharpening. The Dexter sharpener is on the crude side - you won't get a smooth hollow grind out of this one. OTOH, it's putting a good cutting edge on my set of daily knives that I appreciate - I just won't use it on my best knives.

It works exactly as it should. My knives now stay razor sharp. It is designed for carbon steel blades.It might damage knife blades with certain alloys, beware! I shredded the blade on a Shun chef's knife using this sharpener. No big deal because the knife was already damaged due to errors in the hardening process.

This is the ABSOUTE BEST Knife sharpener I have ever had! I have tried so many and some work ok some not at all! This work work very very very very well! For instance I sharpened a kitchen knife I grabbed an old kitchen towel to wipe off the knife after sharpening it and it slide through my towel like butter! I'm just glad I paid attention to how I held it or as sharp as it was I probably would have had to at the very least get stitches! Seriously I usually don't do reviews I think I'v given may 3 reviews on 3 produts any where! This sharpener deserves a review! Do not hesitate you will ve glad you bought it!!

Perfect for keeping a sharp edge on your kitchen knives. Just pull knife through about 10 pulls when knife starts to lose it's edge.
