Great viewing angles for RPI 4
TL;DR Display is one of the better ones with some of the best viewing angles for the size and price. Nice picture. Touch screen function works and is fairly average. Great for Raspberry Pi projects that demand a screen that can be viewed from any angle. Long version: I bought this for a music player project I am working on using the raspberry pi 4. I purchased this one after researching for a 7in display that has good viewing angles. I had gotten the official raspberry pi 7 in display originally and decided to shelf it after the horrible vertical viewing angles. With the raspberry pi 4, I did have to modify the config.txt file to make the display show up correctly. Just a couple quick comparisons between this and the official rpi display. Touch Support: The touch support on this works good. Responsive and fairly precise. The official one does seem to respond better with multi touch, but not giant difference. *Connection: This one uses an hdmi or hdmi mini to connect and a usb port for touch and power. Can use an additional usb power for standalone power instead of pulling it from the raspberry pi. Very good for raspberry pi projects that might be using a cheap power adapter or may already be fairly maximized on their power draw. You might see flickering if you are trying to pull power from a raspberry pi that can't provide adequate power, in which case you would need an additional power supply which is not provided. Mine worked fine using the power from the Pi. Downside is that it is kind of bulky compared to the official one that connects directly to the gpo pins on the board. Upside it frees up the gpo pins for other hats, like in my case, the hifiberry dac pro+ Viewing: This is where is really shines over the official 7" display. I had the official display on a higher shelf that was at an angle. With the official one, the picture became nearly unviewable unless i look at it straight on. However, the Longruner display doesn't suffer from this issue. I can view it from any angle and see the picture and text clearly. The picture quality is sharp and clear, the colors rich and warm. This is great as I use the display for showing album art and listing the title, artist, and album when I am playing music and when I am not playing music, I have it set to switch to a time mode to act as a clock. I can see both modes clearly from any angle and any distance in this room. Overall I am very happy with this screen for my project.

Near perfect, not too expensive
Bought this for a PC system monitor inside the case, and it's working great. Only complaint is that the blue "no display input" screen stays on when I shut the PC down, but I think it has something to do with the USB hub it's plugged into (NZXT). Didn't do that when I first tried it out and it was plugged into motherboard I/O. But oh well, just have to turn off the PSU when I'm not using it for now, and maybe I'll get a longer USB cord/figure out another solution later.

Good Screen for the price. not the best viewing angles, needs brightness controls in next model
I bought this for use with a raspberry PI 4B 8GB model, and I have no serious complaints. the screen looks good, and it weirdly accepts resolutions that it shouldn't be able to (though obviously the image is a bit blurry at anything higher than its native resolution). It works fine under PC Linux as a secondary screen with no obvious lag, and the touch screen seems to work fine even when powering the monitor with the touchscreen usb port. If you're having problems powering it, make sure your port(s) provide enough power. Also the thing is more durable than I would have expected. I've accidentally dropped it a few times, and it still works like a charm! I only have a few complaints, and these are all very minor. - It really only has one viewing angle that doesn't invert the colors. No big deal, I use it with a swingarm, so that's easily manageable. - the closest thing i could find to brightness controls is a single switch for turning the backlight on or off. this is a nice feature in and of itself, but it would be nice to be able to have a little more fine tuned adjustment so the thing isn't blinding in a darker room. not a dealbreaker or anything, though. - the integrated circuits on the back heat up a bit when the screen's running for a while, having a brightness adjustment might fix this, but I couldn't swear by it. I would definitely recommend anyone buying one to work out a way to keep them cool if you intend to put it in an enclosure. a cheap/leftover heatsink or something similar wouldn't be a bad idea. All-in-all, this is a good little screen for the price, even for a Noob like myself. if you're willing to compromise on a few very minor things, it works just fine.

For computer sensor monitor use
First thing is the power issue people have. I am powering it straight from the psu with a molex to usb. Turns off fine that way. I'm running it at 1280x720 resolution with no issues. I would suggest a case for it. I found one here for cheap. No idea about the touchscreen. Didn't need it for that. Viewing angles are weirdly awesome. Like any angle is viewable. It's not the brightest but that's fine. Adai64 software works fine but takes some work or you can buy pre made skins and such. For a computer sensor monitor I have zero complaints. And for 30 bucks...

Superb quality, easy enough for first timer to set up.
This is my first experience with raspberry pi. I bought this monitor (7" version) to go with it. I am extremely happy with it. The picture quality is excellent. This build quality is top notch. Feels sturdy, very well made. At first, it was intimidating to look at and figure out the drivers, but in the end, it was a piece of cake. I watched the vendors youtube video on how to install everything, and it helped me majorly in getting it up and running. My whole experience with this vendor and this monitor has been excellent. If you are in the market, this one is the way to go. You will not regret it. When I go to do another Raspberry Pi build, I will purchase another one of these, same model. It's hard to believe that there could be anything better than this. For the money, this is an excellent value. If you are a first timer like me, get this monitor. I'm not the brightest star in the galaxy, so If I can figure it out and make it work, anyone can. Also, the Longrunner's disc image for Raspbian with the drivers already installed, is excellent. Don't hesitate to try it. There is no bloatware, it's just the OS and the absolute essentials.

Pretty cool but not quite "there" - Confirmed to work with Win 10!
I bought this to essentially have a digital photo frame attached to my computer so the desktop background images would rotate through. The price and size are great but the picture quality is mediocre. It's party due to a low resolution that I was expecting but there is also an extremely strong blue hue to the entire screen. I was not pleased with the viewing angles either. If you look down at it from an angle from above, like if you mounted it to a wall 1-2 feet below your eye site, you can see it pretty well. If you look at it directly or from the left / right it looks very poor. It's definitely a lot cheaper that the stuff like the MIMO touch. 5 Stars for plug in play / touch quality 5 stars for price! 3 stars for overall picture quality

Perfect Display for raspberry pi project!
Purchased this display for my CR10-S400 octoprint project. Building mountings an frame to post in thingiverse shortly....... The product is sturdy and full of connectors. The PCB is 1.6mm thick ~6-8 layer board. It came with all you need to mount and connect to a rasberry pi. The Packaging came with protection everywhere.. The 800 x 480 resolution is more than all you can ever need if you are building a platform for your 3D printer or even a home automation command center (My next project).... Will definitely use a second one of this. As a mechanical engineer in the consumer electronics I can say that the PCB layout and solder is one of high quality. I can appreciate the air gap between display and PCB separating thermal loads from PCB to the Display. this also allows me to add airflow between it if needed. Also this prevents display artifacts when you press on the display. The display glass was protected with a liner an housed on a metal chassis witch is mounted on double adhesive foam. The customer service from Longruner is amazing. I sent an email to ask for dimensional data of the display and they send me a picture with all I needed to star the frame design before the display arrived. This within hours not days.... I checked and the dimensions were spot on. I was also offered their engineers in case I need anything else. If you need a great display with a company that stand behind their product and customers..... look no further.... Great Job Longruner!!! you have a customer in me.... Will be buying another one for my command center at home!!!

Very cute little screen, but unfortunately I can't get the touchscreen to work
This screen works as expected, hdmi connection so it's pretty easy. However, as stated in the title, I just can't seem to get the touchscreen to work, and while its not the biggest deal, I would've liked it to work. I connected all necessary cables for power, display, and touch, so I'm sure that's not it. I also checked the cables by charging my headphones with each applicable one. Unless customer support or someone else could help I guess im pretty much stuck. Besides the touchscreen this is a really good buy if you want a little screen for really anything hdmi connected, Longrunner also sells a case that you should really get for this, as the components are exposed, which could be dangerous if turned on because of electrical circulation.
