Not a genuine leather

Very sturdy and beautifully crafted belt. Provides excellent, comfortable support. However I have found it to be flawed in design. Specifically the omission of a second belt loop. The leather flap of the belt which when buckled and inserted into the belt loop , protrudes about two inches due to the stiffness of the leather. This protrusion caused me to sustain a minor injury when performing a military press. The barbell hit the leather protrusion causing me to loose my grip and drop the barbell. My back twisted and the there is a small chunk of cement now missing in my basement floor where the weights on the barbell fell. This belt would not cause these problems if performing squats or bench presses or any other lift that does not require lifting the barbell from the floor in a standing, prone position. An additional belt loop to secure the leather protruding bulge from the buckle area would prevent this. I have contacted customer service support regarding this matter but have not received any response. This belt, although beautifully crafted and well made does not suit my purpose. I tried using a large paper binder clip to secure the leather flap to reduce the bulge but this should not have to be done. the manufacturer should address this issue. I will use the belt but not for lifts such as military press or snatch. I am somewhat disappointed and will seek out another belt that has two belt loops to secure the buckled leather flap. Updated Review 05-06-2024 Upon continued use of the belt, the leather flap where it buckles and slips into the one belt loop has relaxed to where the the protrusion of flap has become less pronounced and I can see how with even more use the protrusion will not be a significant issue. I had contacted the company's customer support regarding my initial disappointment with the belt loop issue and they immediately responded to offer a replacement belt. A different model with two belt loops instead of just the one. It shares the same beautiful craftsmanship as the other belt. It is a very sturdy 7mm thick with padded lumbar support and is very comfortable to wear and provides the support needed for those heavy lifts. This belt is made to last a lifetime...I am totally impressed with this belt and even more impressed with the outstanding customer service of this company. Such an immediate response from them as well as a replacement belt was beyond what I had expected. I looked at the company website and was amazed at all the lifting and gym related supplies. Truly a one stop shop for all you fitness needs. I am very pleased with the new belt but believe the originally purchased belt should be part of your gym equipment arsenal. I use it for certain lifting exercises and also during my cool down period. Whichever belt or product your purchase from this company they will stand behind it. I recommend this company, and the belts that I have received most highly.
