Product description INCESTICIDE is a compilation of material recorded for the John Peel Sessions, rare singles from Nirvana's tenure with Sub Pop, and previously-unreleased tracks. Nirvana: Kurt Cobain (vocals, guitar); Chris Novoselic (vocals, bass); David Grohl (vocals, drums). Producers include: Jack Endino, Steve Fisk, Miti Adhikari, Dale Griffin. Engineers include: M. Engles, F. Kay, John Taylor. Includes liner notes by Kurt Cobain. All songs written by members of Nirvana except "Turnaround" (Mark Mothersbaugh/Gerald V. Casale), "Molly's Lips" and "Son Of A Gun" (Eugene Kelly/Francis McKee). Personnel: Kurt Cobain (vocals, guitar); Dave Grohl, Chad Channing (drums). Photographer: Charles Peterson . Unknown Contributor Roles: Dale Crover; Dan Peters. More than just a b-sides collection, INCESTICIDE culls together Nirvana's work before and around their now-legendary albums. Released between the groundbreaking NEVERMIND and the artsier IN UTERO, the rarities and outtakes which make up this album shed new light on Nirvana's oeuvre, filling in the gaps between official releases and providing fans with a wider variety of recordings from different sources. Highlights include three covers, taken from John Peel sessions: a Devo tune ("Turnaround") and two songs by Scotland's The Vaselines, whose purposefully vapid pop magic is given the force of a juggernaut, with the minimal production that best showcases the Nirvana's aggressive grace. The famous quasi-live recording conditions of the BBC sessions provide another standout, the surging, desperate "Aneurysm," which remains one of Nirvana's finest recorded moments. .com Originally intended as a stopgap record following the massive success of Nirvana's Nevermind, the archival Incesticide album has taken on an added significance in light of subsequent events. Consisting of outtakes, demos, non-album singles, and live BBC sessions, it's a fascinating if less-than-truly essential listening experience. Highlights include the rip-roaring childhood memoir "Sliver" and its caustic companion (from a pre-Nevermind single) "Dive." There's also a brilliant cover of the Vaselines' "Molly's Lips." --Daniel Durchholz

NIRVANA - 1992
Back in the 90s we had some truly cool music. No band hit me as hard over the head with their sound and lyrics as NIRVANA. Their catalog consists of three studio albums and an album’s worth of B-sides (this) released in late 1992. There are various other b-sides, demos, and even some finished songs that weren’t released until much later after the band was no more. But essentially, we get four albums from NIRVANA when all said and done. If you never heard Incesticide for some reason, definitely give this record a spin because it is a terrific companion album to Bleach. It’s got some moody & chaotic tunes, but it also has some interesting songs with uplifting lyrics. Ha! This was my favorite band as a teenager in the 90s, and the older I get, the more I appreciate what Kurt Cobain was able to do with five years of playing. Fame and celebrity came to him, he didn’t come to it, never compromising. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you don’t need this album.. you do. So “come on over, and do the twist.”NIRVANA = CLASSIC

Ultimate Nirvana
Grab one while one can. An ultimate. Pure and raw and ass-kicking album. Needless to say more. The 45 pressing I say is way better than the standard. Get it as an add-on until your neck breaks headbangin for more reissues.

Just Great
Incesticide is a great album full of great ideas and songs. This album has a bit of a new wave-type style going for most of it in songs like "Molly's Lips", "Polly(new wave)" or "Turnaround". Although it still has grunge tracks like "Dive", "Aneurysm", "Big Long Now", or "Stain". There are three great covers from the vaselines. I definitely encourage you to buy this if you want a little bit of a mix in songs.
