Sweet little device
I've used MacBook Air's since their first iteration, and while they've come a long way they've also made some bad choices along the way. Overall what you have here is a sweet little laptop. The screen is large enough to work on for most things, especially with the higher resolutions. Power wise, it's handled everything ive thrown at it thus far. Multiple tabs open in Firefox, as well as VLC player going on in the background. Evernote and Logos software running and indexing as well as a couple of others. All running perfectly fine with no noticeable hitching or slowdown. As a student laptop this is ideal, silent, small and easy to carry with enough power to do almost everything you want it to. However a few things to note. The base model only has 8gb of RAM, and uses the hard drive to fill up any overflow. This of course means your hard drive will take a hammering, reducing its life expectancy somewhat. Though it's hard to say just how much that would be. I opted for the 512GB hard drive version, feeling 256gb would be too small for all my stuff as well as the system using some for ram. Only the 8gb ram model is offered on amazon, if you want to go for 16gb (and extra £200) you have to go through Apple directly. However doing this means you get charged the full price. On Amazon you can get a bit of a discount, but you're stuck with just 8GB. Like I said however, I personally feel 8GB is enough for me and my studies. I do do a little bit of gaming, but since the M series are not really supported by developers, I tend to use Geforce Now, so it works really well for gaming as well for me. MagSafe makes a glorious return to save your laptop from accidentally being pulled to the floor by pets, or random people in coffee shops! The other glorious thing is it's battery life. The blurb says it can go for 18h, and I can believe it! After a few hours of work, an hour or so of GeforceNow gaming, the battery was still above 80%. this was with battery saver mode off! So saying it's an all day machine is NOT and understatement. Now, a few dislikes and niggles. I picked the midnight colour, and have to admit part of me regrets it. The colour is gorgeous no doubt, but man does it pick up finger prints! If you're a neat freak, don't get midnight! The other thing you're probably going to need is a dongle. The Air only has 2 USB-C ports, which is annoying, especially since they're both on the same side. As such you're probably going to need a dongle. I picked up B09NBSNMGJ as it can be used on both my iPad Pro and the Air. Finally the weight. The original Air was super light, and held the title of king of lightness till the LG Gram came about. However in this M2 model, it's gains a bit of weight. Now it's not "heavy" per se, unless you're putting it up against the afore mentioned Gram. However it IS still a bit of heft compared to the originals. I'd also like to address the price, MacBook's are expensive, however they aren't THAT expensive. Looking at comparable laptops you will pay more to get the same quality. Though yes, those devices do tend to come with 16gb ram and 1tb of space. The value of that is debatable, and for me at least wasn't worth the extra cost. Overall I'm very happy with the M2 Air, and have no qualms recommending it. Though as I said, not the base model, go for the 512gb model

Absolutely brilliant!
This is our second Macbook Air M2 in our household, both are used by our daughters (GCSE and A Levels). They both replaced their windows laptops. They were getting very slow and noisy. Now, let's talk about the Macbook Air M2 screen. Oh, the screen! It's like a visual feast. The retina display makes everything look stunning. The colours are so vibrant, and the text is incredibly sharp. It's a joy for the eyes. The second thing you notice is how incredibly quiet this Macbook is - there is no cooling fan. Complete silence. It's like a stealthy work companion that never interrupts your focus. Perfect for those long study sessions. And let's not forget the keyboard. It's hard to describe how satisfying it is to type on this laptop. The keys are responsive, and they feel so comfortable. This laptop is worth every penny.

Excellent quality, powerful and light
One of my favorite all-time laptops and a pleasure to use. The keyboard is my all-time favorite: light touch, sensitive and responsive with absolutely no noticeable lag. The screen which is amazing; sharp, bright and does not cause any eye strain, while the battery lasts quite long. Upgraded from an Intel based Macbook Pro with 16Gb RAM and the only feature I miss is the touch bar. So far I haven't experienced any noticeable performance degradation even though this has only 8Gb RAM compared to my other macbook however I do recommend the 16GB variant rather than the 8Gb for 'future-proof' because the memory is unified (cannot be upgraded). Amazing laptop!
