What would be the minimum possible size of whole needed for the tap to go into the worktop

It’s a chrome finish - it’s a nice tap. However be warned that the threaded portion is quite short and it’s not long enough to go through a 40mm worktop.

can I buy a replacement cartridge when the tap leaks and how much is it?

The tap is very well-made/robust and it shouldn't leak unless it is really, really old. Is it still under guarantee? Where exactly is the leak?
