Every time you push on the handle, the next dosage will come out…whether for the same day or next day. There’s no way for the pills to stay in their slot if you move to the next day/dosage unless the dispenser is lying flat. Hope this makes sense snd hrlps. For what it’s worth, we love ours snd think it works great. So pleased with our purchase!
