Workbook: Problems for Algeo/Butcher's The Origins and Development of the English Language, 7th 7th Edition

Difficult workbook questions, but they really help you to master the material. Very few errors. DEFINITELY get a hard copy, though. I have a digital version and it's difficult to work with. You want a book you can write in. Worth the money to avoid digital, and I don't say that for textbooks often.

The workbook is really indispensable, but it is also criminally expensive. When I took this class in college the workbook was like $20 or so, and now it's almost as expensive as the book itself. But the publisher has cornered the market, so what's a teacher going to do?
