Great lidar for not a lot of money!
Works as expected! Light weight and small form factor is helpful for small projects, too.Quick to ship!

A good upgrade to the RPLIDAR A2
Have yet to do extensive testing but so far is cleaner and higher quality than the RPLIDAR A1 and works seamlessly with ROS2.Only thing is the requirement for one cable for data and one for power which is slightly inconvenient.

s/opes have no idea how to do software
near impossible to get this thing set up. I have to download wechat? Wechat wants me to enter a credit card? I already bought this? card flags it as a scam, won't let me create a wechat account until I have some wechat user of over 6 months scan for me. Who tf knows somebody with wechat? The website doesn't work on desktop either. Wants me to login but won't let me create an account. I guess I have to return this because this is total nonsense

so far so good
I am having trouble uploading a video, but this one has been working for the last 6 months without any issues. It was for my brother's robot, and this allows his robot to map efficiently and accurately by scanning its surroundings quickly. Compared to the one he used before this, it operates more smoothly with less noise. It also seems quite durable considering it's been already 6 months, but if any issues arise down the road, I will edit my review (and try to post the video again later)

Slamtec RoboStudio recognize the Lidar on COM 4
I had one of these before, then bought this A12 version thinking it would be easier to use. The cheaper A1 version barely worked with Robostudio. It really was hit or miss as to whether the robostudio would actually detect the LIDAR device connected to the computer directly through USB and 5VDC power. Same problem here with this newer (more advanced.. version). Cool idea, but sucks spending several hundred $$ to drive yourself crazy after downloading the specific drivers, UI, SDK, etc. Nothing cohesive. I dont even want to try to control on serial with arduino if the USB interface doesnt even work! Also, cant even download plugins with the registered robostudio account. Stay away.

The product is very good
The product is very good, as I thought it would be, and as described. The documentation was very good and enabled me to find information quickly. For a SLAM novice's perspective, it will be great for getting you up to speed and you'll find yourself needing to do a lot of research and fiddling, which made it very interesting and passionate for me.
