Learn to Make Meaning
It's hard to turn data into meaningful insights. Often we just fill in the gaps with our assumptions and the narratives we live by—leaving our research efforts vulnerable to bias and inaccuracy. Kolko shows a structured, repeatable way to move from data to meaning.

Awesome manual to guide execution and facilitation
Many Design Thinking texts are filled with case studies to prove the process and esoteric theories on the topic. This text boils it down to a set of processes to facilitate a designed outcome. The more esoteric texts have their place, but this text will work as a practitioners handbook. Love this book!

Explaining creativity and design
As a creative director and design founder I was always searching for ways to explain what happens in between client facing discovery and the magic we deliver as designers. The intersection of art and science is something some call wonder because of how it makes us feel this book breaks down how the mind arrives at these decisions and processes you can repeat with others.

A book that practices what it preaches
An excellent book that provides what most books don't: theory and principles backed up by practical examples and clear guidance on how to execute. It's a book for those who not only want to understand but want to do. "Exposing the Magic of Design" will help those who want to create design-centric organizations and lead their industries.

WARNING! I returned this e-book because it was not compatible with any of my Kindle devices--a DX or 2nd-gen, Kindle. It was only compatible with Kindle for PC. If I wanted to read on my desktop, I wouldn't have bought a Kindle in the first place. I only discovered this when I tried to Manage my Content. One star for the incompatibility--no reflection on the content. (I thought the content would be OK, so I bought the book :) .) I'd appreciate some kind of warning somewhere on the page...and hope this doesn't happen again.

Excellent Book (mid to expert)
If you’re a designer with 4-5 years of practice and don’t fully understand why you do certain things or what design synthesis really means in more articulate terms this book opens up your mind and thoughts to the essence of design. One of my favourite design nerd book, it had some practical tips and approaches in latter parts of the book but I never usually get that far as the first section is always such a mind opener. It’s a tough read and reading it multiple times helps (you get something new from it every time). If you’re a career designer and mainly interested in process and application of design there are better books. But if you’re a born designer and think deeply about design this book helps give a more defined perspective that pushes your thinking of the practice a little further.Highly recommended.

Bester Stoff
